Was good leading, but no info ever reached me and Hitman, si without knowing why we were stopped all the time, and what was going on. we got easily bored, and a bit annoyed.
Except for the failure to answer me when I reported a squad aproaching and wondered if the were enemy and friendly, and that ended fine, I have no complaints
sso yeah, was good leading, of both us and ferit

Radio Comms and meaning of plan wasn't quite interpreted correctly but was enjoyable!
As Delta sayd... Radio comms issues appear IRL aswell.. I remember a training I had, where our officers had radio mixup.. So we sat for about 3-4 hours in one place defending and waiting for comms to be fixed.. Or another one where we had comms issues and we started shooting friendlies.. So thats perfectly normal to happen... Mission never go as planed.. Thats why military needs good officers who can easily improvise..

On my experience if your just a soldier on the back of the row, then you dont need to know why we stopped unless its critical to know ( like enemy ahead or etc) Because most of the time Its officers talking with HQ, stating their position, asking new objective and so on.. But to know WHEN to stop would be useful.. I know i kept telling to stop to ferit heard him say it to his squad.. But few times I didnt hear it so i walked into guy infront of me..
But other than those small details, it was epic..

No one bothered to create an AAR? Fine, I will do so next time. Here is the entire round from my perspective. It was my first time being RTO so everything was new to me. Especially the beginning was rough but I got used to it after a while.

Yeah I was afraid it might have been a bit boring at the back for you guys. But then again there really wasn't much to do.
Btw. sometimes I did stop without letting it know (just to check the map and see if we were in position etc.), I'll keep it in mind
Sorry 'bout the boredomeness

Just finished watching Da-Forts video, Oh my how messed up comms was.
First Order given-
- Conflicting order was given over radio telling sections to move to waypoint 1 (however my intent was to proceed on
mission and wait at waypoint 2 as per the inital plan)
This happened:
Section 1 went straight to waypoint 3... (they spent ages waiting due to this)
Section 2 tried making it's way to waypoint 2
Section 3 waited at waypoint 1
HQ tried to meet me (comms error, my internet can be blamed too )
I won't go into all the details here, but we learnt a lot about how to do platoons, with our first real platoon! I will be passing on what I learnt in the coming time.

Section 1 went to way point 2 no one there so Scotty decided to push on 2way point 3 there we waited. Other sections seamed to of got lost in our opinion. Given it took them 40 mins to get to waypoint 3 we waited at 2 for a while also.
We went to way point 1 then round the back of the hill to way point 2, no one there, we then went to way point 3. No one there so Scotty made it easy and waited at the radio tower North East of the village the one with the red light on to make it easier for other sections to find us. Then we went over the hill to the road. 40 mins is way to long. I've no idea where every one else was but when the radio dude told the other sections where we was it took 15 mins to get to us. Led us to believe some navigation work needs to be done.
We were all getting so board waiting for every one to find there was, Scotty decided to move into the town.
I got so board I went to bed. 90 min timed mission shouldnt take 40mins to regrouped. The time limit should be some indication that a paceier movement is required.
I got kill when spotting for deadly, some bug as I was dropping ammo at the same time I got shot. My player bugged out and I had no control. Deadly healed me and said I was fine. But on my screen I had a white halo around the screen and couldn't do any thing.
So I respawned, took less than a min to get back to the village.walking right past the AAV.
Thanks for playing, a lot learned.

May I ask how many actually have had military experience?
Just off-topic question...
Cause some of you that I heard and saw.. Did some actual military tactics out there..

I have, but i didn't get into the game till the last 20 minutes, i found the village no problem, and ran into everyone when they were all grouped up inside the village, ofcourse my character was knackered by the time i got to Chris and i ended up slowing them down - we didn't even come across any enemies we just heard alot of shooting then we met up with snipps and sat there, then i shat myself when the objective blew up after being sat there for 10 minutes not doing anything xD

Re: [28 Player] British Paras 1980s [03/08/2012? @ 20:00]
Nooo ghost! You told them we we're at waypoint three! And you didnt correct you plonker! at 13 minutes scotty, we we're like 50 meters north of you.
Haha the comms were so fucked. When you told us to go to grid whatever and gost said: will relate to the CO no reply came (though granted ghost his acre was acting up). But it was hectic because we had snippers as well telling us to do something else so everything went downhill from there. But there never was confirmation that we would move to that grid (because I did not give orders to go there)
@ the moon!
0:24 where you'd let everyone meet up scotty, is where we met up
I like how everyone was saying: are coming over there.. There should be more uses of grids. At one point my radio guy got the message come to this position. So i told him, where is this position. Then he got the message: right where HQ is. so i told him: WHERE THE f**k IS HQ. Seriously more grids (a lot of this could have been prevented if more grids were used. Because at the time 0:28 when you thought we we're moving to you, we were moving to waypoint 3.)
0:29. No dafort I just wanted to know if scotty had a message for me (relayed through you ), because I thought i saw him type in chat, so i thought he must have something to say), LOL and then i get the piss I dont know the mission. Man radio comms were really fucked up.
0:30 we were crossing the road to your North East. Again "the road" isnt very clear ;D
0:34 it's so funny to hear you guys bitching at me when I was bitching too. I was sitting at waypoint 3 waiting for orders with a thumb up my ass. And you guys are waiting for me to get to you whilst I'm thinking what the hell are the orders. Comms are so messed up, you guys are at a way different location where I thought you were and got different orders from HQ (still did not give any confirmation that we werent coming to your grid - so that might have been handy)
Haha I get so pissed at the comments. I was so f*****g alpha navigating trough the map went exactly as planned perfectly and I hear you guys moan that im lost and dont know here I am.. GRAAAH!
0:35 also ghost: "the waypoint" is supposed to be waypoint 3 .. I thought I told you that xD
0:37 that is foxtrot 3, not foxtrot 2
0:37 Ah I guess you did say waypoint 3 at the end ghost
0:38 proceed to section 1's location? Yes proceed to section 1's location. -> foxtrot 1 what is your location (I'll find out for you -is what ghost says to me- because I was f*****g pissed that we didnt get any f*****g grids ). Just across the road from foxtrot actual. HAHAHA THIS DROVE ME f*****g NUTS xD
0:39 We're going in.. out -> f*****g exploded right then. I was sitting at waypoint 3 still doing nothing and then I heard that.. Grahh that really pissed me off
0:46 this is when we were ordered (by HQ) to go in to the village
0:49:12 BXV's AT hits the AAVP
0:50 got downed by friendly fire (don't know who got you with the AT scotty. I could have been one of my guys but I dont think it was because I only had one AT -i think- and he only fired once)
0:51 haha awesome clarification
0:53:58 There is a more important man hurt.
1:00:00 wow you guys were on the move quickly. I though I was quick but you just about matched us - or even better
1:01:25 you can see us moving as well - that went quite well actually.
1:03:40 it's quite heavy.. Exe:.. Oh.. Id offer to carry some
1:04:16 we were really moving up at the same pace. Pretty cool
1:04:30 f**k you scotty!
1:04:48 my formation was f*****g ace, it was a perfect column you plonker!
1:07:10 i was contacting HQ for action, you just ran in tsssk
1:07:40 we got the same message thinking it was friendlies trying to clear out a checkpoint too. At the time we were right next to you. So dont know what that firing was?
1:08:20 whilst we were sneaking past you opened fire Nothing went wrong though
1:13:00 the not so friendlies were executed from less then 10 meters
1:15:00 the f*****g catapult.
1:17:13 little bastards
But yes, very informative

Re: [28 Player] British Paras 1980s [03/08/2012? @ 20:00]
I think it was at 0.43 +|- 10. I'd had enough of the issues with the comms, we or at least I didn't know if HQ had got back online. It was at this point my daughter started to kick off so decided it along with frustation was a good time to leave.
Lessons have been learned. Glad others as well as myself can take on board where things tripped up.
Looking forward to next time.
Spread out the roles to more experienced players for the important stuff.
Had an awesome time passing ammo for the gpmg guy. Also the AT guy shot 2 rockets as I was carrying spare ammo for that too. Think it was BXV who took it from me.

A large piece of shrapnel cut my head off after Exe blew up the AAV! =D
- I forgot I wasn't playing PR at that moment! xD
- The only message we got from HQ throughout the hole mission was to hold outside of the castle. "this is the reason I took things into my own hands at the village" + we were bored as f**k.
- at your feedback awesome!
Its all <3

Yes, when I reviewed the footage together with Scotty. I did realise that I was wrong about Ghost's request. My bad.
And the reason why I did not say any grid when we were attacking was that I would get left behind and not be able to find my fire team. It happened before. I was hoping you guys would be close to the CO for reference.
Scotty did get killed by shrapnel from a rocket fired by Exetick. To be honest I think the shot that hit the rear of the AAVP killed the crew inside. We shot just in case the last rocket did not kill off all the crewmembers. The AAVP's hull was still mostly intact.
When we ran into that checkpoint, I thought you guys were to the north-west of us.
Also it should be said that I am sorry for taking Danger6 his slot. But thanks to him I got video of us shooting stuff. I think I hit 5 guys.

Haha, yeah it's all good. Just FYI the "review" I did was not meant to be a d**k or anything. Just things that in my opinion should have been different. It's cool because I can see what things I need to work on next time as well.

Re: [28 Player] British Paras 1980s [03/08/2012? @ 20:00]
Glad you went through it Kerre, Would like to chat with you on teamspeak about that game but unforunatly going on holiday in 25 mins. I also watched the video and made notes that I am going through with each section leader.
This morning I decided that it is clear that guidelines regarding roles, responsibilities and expectations of leaders and comms protocols regarding plans and execution need to be given, as to ensure a smoother expierence. Indeed mistakes were made in a lot of places, but you know what for our first platoon op to actually be a mission success is quite something! Even with all the issues we prevailed and the mission was a success.
The biggest issue on the part of HQ was the transmission of the plan. I will also admit fault on keeping back Kerre and being slightly unable to keep track of Foxtrot's 2 position. As to Foxtrot 1 apparently not hearing from HQ, what exactly did you ask HQ, where people were over the radio? This will of course not lead to much information being given, thus radio procedures need to be brought in to commuciate such things. Foxtrot 1 disregarded the plan to wait at Waypoint 2, I can understand that this was due to a few reasons including Ghost's misinformation. So it is quite unforunate the rest of the platoon had to wait indeed. It was also not the intended duty of Foxtrot 1 to attempt to place Foxtrot 2 in position. The use of radio operators in most cases seemed a bit like Chinese whispers, context was lost a lot of the time.
With all that said it would have gone a lot more smoother had the plan been made clearer to which I accept blame for (First platoon assault plan), in future I will also get every unit leader to state what their role in the plan is after the plan has been given.
Landmarks are essential for navigation with lack of GPS that is indeed a great lesson learnt the towers with red lights really aided us nicely.
I think we did well under the circumstances due to the updates and server messing up our planning time. This was indeed quite unfortunate, I would like to thank you all for your participation! Rest assured I will continue to strive to make the experience smoother!
