When - 1 September 2012 20:00 GMT
Mission - We are to move into areas thought to be harboring insurgents and flush them out. Once enough intel has been gathered regarding the location of an enemy weapon cache, we will move in and destroy it. Emphasis is still on preventing civilian casualties. Any person with a weapon is deemed hostile and will be disarmed or neutralized. CAS and or transport roles will be available once a minimum of eleven infantry (two squads and a CO) show up, so if you wish to have helicopter role please put down an infantry role as well.
Max Slots - 30
Purpose
The goal of this mission is to have as much fun as possible whilst also playing with our usual level of realism.
Arrival time - 19:50 or before
- All players should turn up at least 10 minutes beforehand and be on the server 5 minutes before start time.
- Fireteam Leaders/Squad Leaders to turn up at least 45 minutes before start, you will be contacted ahead of time if you make one of these roles.
- You need to ensure that your game is up to date before the event (recommend updating day before, then re-updating on the day)
Slot Policy
- Slots priority is firstly given to those who have signed up in this thread, on a first come, first served basis.
- If more slots are free and you happen to tag along without having signed up, it will be on a first come first served basis.
- If you fail to get to the mission 9 minutes before start, your signed
up slot will be freed up to those on a first come, first served basis.
Rules

We'll be playing the Insurgency gamemode tonight (v1.50 with ACE and ACRE). In future more custom missions will appear, but this has come about from a distinct desire from the majority to want to shoot at things, as when we ran Patrol Ops and a stealth mission quite a lot of people got disappointed at not firing . We're still planning what mission to play for Septembers' "Big Arma Game". We're also working on developing our maps

Respawn was being incredibly annoying, so I had to leave, after getting ff'd it wouldn't let me spawn for like 10 minutes. Just kept killing me when the timer reached 0

Well leaving beside the ACRE issue I had at the beggining I think we did good.. Although this mission here is something that rarely comes up nowadays (meaning such a big fight that all squads were all the time busy). Now its more of a patrolling and contact that gets eliminated, then patrolling again..
One my side I cant say we had any comms issues.. In middle of fight It was kinda hard to hear snippers for a while cause for me he was pretty quiet.. But other than that it was all awsome.. Like when my squad went to resupply 3rd squad.. I called them up with radio.. They responded and we met without friendly fire.. They resupplied and we went to our next obj..
Ofcourse we could've done better if like squadleaders have their own squad they train or play with more often.. And since its my first time as squadleader in this game and also being squadleader while talking in english ^^ I'd like to be critizied aswell.. So I know what to do different...
And again.. Sorry if I misunderstood something.. Like when we were talking about splitting my squad apart.. I misunderstood you snippers.. ^^ Sry about that.. English aint my mothers tongue you know
Though I liked this mission a lot... And as much as I played I think everyone did good out there...

You did well for that being your first time as a squad leader. It was quite hectic for most of the operation. I only have two criticisms, but they are things that you will undoubtedly improve over time with experience. First one is that you were too quiet and were not giving updates in combat. Second is that we moved and stopped in open ground too often. I think we learned why that is not the best idea after being shot by the tank .

Well It was first time squad leader in this game.. been one in real life quite a bit.. But in here we have forests mostly.. well everything is forest here.. No need to worry about being in the open...
And I can try to be more active about our situation.. But it is like 11pm here when we usually start.. And I dont live alone.. So I cant talk way too loud cause I might wake others up and thats not good...
Being SL in real life and in this game are totally different.. I'd say its much easier in real life than it is in the game simpler..

Exe im sure told him to ignor me im allways liek that " i realy enjoyed that round me and my bazooka had lots of fun . I just need to sort the radio out that does my head in . realy happy with the L85 gun thing i had reddot / scope thanks to chris for that info.
i even played till 1130 pm thats a record for me not getting the slipper treat ment in the head off the wife for being too noisey.

Thought the Jackel was far better to go into battle with than the Humvee as it has more fire power and the ACOG on the 50 makes mince meat of infantry at a distance.
Ohh and we were running away from that tank when it took us out, just that the AI in both tank and Hind were deadly accurate.

Yes, I saw that happening. I witnessed burning people crawling out of the wreckage. I shot a couple of smokes in their direction so the tank would not continue firing. I hope that was not a bad decision on my part.
And the AI really do get some BS shots on you. My squad got knocked out multiple times by BRDM-2s just speeding around. Tanks seem like they have auto-aim and Hinds do not even get me starting on them. During a training session with you and Snippers. I was driving around in a LAV. You guys where to drop off some ammo for me when the Hind picked you up. I parked right behind a wreckage (à la World of Tanks) and the Hind fired 4 rockets right onto that wreckage. Even one rocket would have destroyed my LAV. Vehicle AI need some working on. Too accurate in my opinion.

Those Jackal's were badass! I raped on that 50. until the taliban marksmen started engaging me. About 30mins into the game Arc and his dad joined Kerre's squad so we was left at base while arc was explaining to his dad how to play the game.. I started getting impatient, then had to leave!
Look forward to the next one tho Kerre.
