I posted my previous comment with the assumption that the BAF would be the primary faction for the mission. I was advocating for a secondary one as I don't have the expansion making the textures look very bad.

Right now I've placed BAF units and Jackals. They wear MTP camo though so I don't know if they're ACE or BAF expansion. It's currently 9 euro either on steam or Gamersgate (if you have retail copy like me).

I've put in BAF units because that is what I like best but if people want something different that's fine with me. (As long as it isn't the god awful US Army ACU)

I don't use PayPal anymore, so those aren't an option for me. Any other faction would be cool. Hell, I don't even mind playing as the CDF, Czechs, or Egyptians.

What'd you need them for anyway? Isn't the sight unit menu enough?

You can do it yourself, one of the links I posted was for the editor files. Just put them in your \Documents\ArmA 2\missions folder and you'llbe able to load it from the editor. Then when you're done just save to multiplayer folder in the pop up and it'll export as a playable mission.

nah you use them as your point of aim, the sight unit is nothing without some point of reference because adjusting the deflection adjusts the sight and not the gun so to get the right bearing you have to readjust back to the Collimeter. Yeah I know I can save like that but I was thinking more for when we do the mission, I have a separate map for doing arty training etc.

I haven't used the M119 but on the 81mm I just ignore the sight all together and use the menu. When the top ---0-|-|----- is centered I fire.

I still maintain the M119 is over-ranged and -powered on Aliabad as the map is only 5km long. I also think you should have to move out of base and set up an outpost somewhere. I think that would be much more interesting for everyone rather than have 3-5 people just sit in base and screw about until someone calls in a firemission.

I haven't used the 81mm but how do you know you are facing in the right direction as the menu moves the sight not the gun/mortar. I'm happy to just use the mortars if you want? Reference range and op the mortar can hit all of the map anyway and explosion isn't that much smaller, but yeah I'll happily use the mortars if you think it'll work better?

Delta: On the 81mm just using the arrow keys work fine. I set angle with menu and direction by compass. I just generally think mortars are better suited for a map of this size.

yeah im happy to use the 81mm mortars, is it possible to have a couple of 60mm mortars and plenty of 81mm and 60mm ammo around please? Only reason for the 60mm is if i move up closer to the fighting the 81mm will too close and the area that the rounds will fall in will be too big (sorry to be bugging you so much)

The base might be completely (or partially) redesigned now that there's more factions. Since we'll definitely have 2 (maybe 3) different nations I'll ofcourse add appropriate vehicles. (had to google Maxxpros. DEFINETLY! I've known about them but always forget the name, and that they're in ACE).

The ammo will be moved inside. I only placed it there, and that amount so that we could play around with it.

EDIT: Also, it's Kasper or Xazper. Why does everyone mix them up? It's not like they're even similar.

There is actually a whole spreadsheet for people who have signed up and what roles they wanted + extra stuff on there. Razz

Where playing MSO (Multi-Session Operations) kinda like what we did, we get real time objectives appear as we play. Map is yet to be decided though. Can i suggest its not to British Army orientated as a lot of us me included haven't got the British DLC installed.
