Release date confirmed for June 19th in the EU. With a demo coming before then. Germany, Austria and Switzerland actually get it this week.
A couple of more links to get the juices flowing:

I didn't play the first one or OPF but think it looks potentially awesome.

Re: ARMA2
welll so ffar it looks like some very good eye candy. But what about the game play. If the game play is crap and the interface is shoddy and how you operate the tanks choppers etc is lame it will be another crysis, just like a bad pussy, all lips and a saggy hole..
Hope its not though need some thing new and my rig can handle it.

Possibly running it in windowed mode rather than at his native monitor resolution.
I should have my copy a week today with a bit of luck. If you do buy it be prepared for a few bugs. Reportedly especially with the campaign, which is a shame as I was really looking forward to trying that in co-op mode with 4 mates asap.
However, patch 1.02 is due out before the end of the month so things should get better soon.
The true sandbox nature of the game and ability to pretty much do anything (as shown in the above vid) with the included editor is also very interesting.

Did anyone get ARMA2 ?
Ive been playing it a couple of weeks now, & its Simply stunning. Comes with a few bugs & the controls are Monsterous took me a week just to get my head around all the comands .
Probley will have a short online shelf life, but the singleplayer modes will keep you interested for weeks if you got the paitance .

Re: ARMA2
I've been interested in ArmA2 since it was anounced as I formally played the original ArmA and Op Flashpoint before that. However, I downloaded the demo to stress test my machine and see how it runs and it's groovey for about 15 minutes before freezing up. Did all the regualr system checks and diagnostics and came up with nout so I check the ArmA2 forums and theres quite a few with the same issue, probably relating to specific bits oif hardware or drivers. so I'm hoping to find the key to the problem before smashing the cash down for the full product.
Op Flash 2 - looks great, but I'm worrying they will dampen it down for the masses. Op Flash has always been a realistic milsim game and I fear Codemasters will aproach it from more of a Call of Duty standpoint. Don't get me wrong the CoD games are great fun, but I'd expect a more tactical, realistic and unforgiving experience from the Op Flash franchise. We will see, but I think ArmA2 will appeal to the Op Flash fans more than Op Flash 2.
Time will tell I guess. I'm bound to buy it though

Re: ARMA2
i got it its great!!! with the editer you can create your own missions... set your own goals
you can command the whole battle the only thing that has let the game down is the voice from the ai's sounds really s**t
like when your on one of those pre-recorded services "you have ONE new message" etc
but the single player missions are pretty hard... you gotta put your PR cap on and not rush into things
i might go an make a huge battle after seeing that video
cant play it online yet tho... got no internet i'm using my m8s comp

Anyone got this and interested in getting a coop game together? I bought it and tried it out but tbh the community is a bit crap so i didn't really enjoy it. Reckon it could be a good laugh with the right people. and don't worry if you're rubbish, i dont have a clue either...

I dont have it yet. TBH I havn't seen a vid for it yet that actually makes it look worth playing. I am saving my pennies for when PR-A comes out then I will get it.

Re: ARMA2
i think the pr guys will be able to turn it into something very good indeed, some stuff can be complicated but it has the potential to do all the stuff that the BF2 engine cant. definitely needs a lot of work though. dying for a proper view distance, BF2 is really starting to show its age imo

Re: ARMA2
Just ordered Operation Arrowhead from a webshop. It should arrive in a few days but I dunno if I'll be able to use my contacts by then. I'll wait till i can see again and then I'll love to get some coop going to learn the game. I had a cracked copy of the base game but found the movement clunky (guess i just have to get used to it) and the menus confusing. Though that was with a low framerate, I got an awesome new PC now that should be able to handle it fine.

I keep hearing and seeing on youtube that the ARMA2 multiplayer is way to laggy and as I can see it does not run smooth in multiplayer.
What is you're experience on this? it just doenst invite me to buy the game what so ever. I just looks like an unfinished product...
Maybe I should just wait for BF3

Re: ARMA2
in my (admittedly fairly limited) experience, it is not too badly laggy, but that really depends on the server you are on. If the mission/server has a lot of AI running, it can lag quite bad. But with a capable server, the game is theoretically capable of 150+ players (PvP, no AI) without serious lag (not sure how true this is )
I think it'd be worth buying, as PR:ARMA will only be PvP, and will be optimised more than the original game, so should be less laggy. The reason i dont play ARMA at the moment, is because of the crap PvP.
PR:ARMA has a lot of potential, I hope it will be great, but who knows..

Re: ARMA2
Had a fun COOP game of this last night with ghost and da-fort (and snippers for like 5 minutes, in which we all got killed by a tank haha).
Was just wondering how many NwA-ers and regulars have ARMA2, and would be interested in some coop games? We could perhaps organise an evening or two of it.
For those looking to install mods, get this - http://six.dev-heaven.net/wagn/Six_Updater
You can create multiple mod profiles, pick and choose the mods you want, and it will download the latest versions and install them. It even gets custom islands/maps and the like. You can start the game with certain mods enabled/disabled and stuff like that. Makes it much much simpler imo, as it was a pain in the arse before

For anyone that hates the ridiculous motion blur, but would like to keep the other nice post processing effects, take a look at this
http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=97853
I can't stand the motion blur, makes it feel even more clunky and slow than it is. Apparently, it also gives quite a big performance boost as well, the motion blur code was very inefficient. Will be trying it when I get home today

Verdict: Awesome.
Game look so much better with effects but it takes a lot of computing power. I have a I7 3.07Ghz, 6gb ram and a geforce 580 and I have to turn settings down. I need a new gfx card my cpu is never above 20% and ram under 50%. A SSD would be nice too *wink wink*

Did it remove the motion blur? That's the bit I want to turn off, without removing the other effects.
I have the effects on at 1920x1080 - i7-530, 6gb ram, GF 460GTX, 120gb SSD
The SSD is awesome. Makes the game load fast and run really smooth.
