right my graphics card is on its way out need another one

i need a new one this is best i can find any help any one dont want ati as i have just gone thro 2x 2900dh 1gb x2 dont think my oven/computer likes em

if micks the best to ask he must of missed the fact you said you have 2x ati cards so it must be crossfire motherboard.

If your eating grafix cards so fast have a look at your power supply. those to cards will need about 150 watts each. Then add all the other kit that uses power. If you have less than a 500 watt power supply id start there. Go for at least 1000watts. Also didnt you just buy a new PC? Must have money to burn or have you been on a blag again and need to get rid of some cash???????????? scousers there all the same.


I was looking at Dell today they offer 2 PC`s both the same spec but one runs 2x9800gtx and the other has 1x 1gb 280 card. the second one was alot more in the cash department just cos of the card. so Id say 1 x 280 is better than 2 x 9800. Also SLI only works well in high resolutions so unless your going to buy a top end monitor that will run at high resolutions like what Kenny has id go for the single card option. Which will do the high res stuff too but only needing one card. You could sli the 280 but then you will have to make a porn film just to prove you do have the biggest one.

must say 280 oc are realy nice card and as will did say sli is only gone look nice at high rez BUT if you don't have the cpu to follow your gpu
your better off to get 1 card and psu is very very inportand my pc did not start and i had a psu off 650watt

That card is a good card but the nvidia drivers are crap at the moment.

I made the mistake of going to nvidia when i had a crossfire board i got a 8800gt which is a good card but unable to upgrade later. so if you pay £300 now, Then you want to upgade say 8 mouths time you will need a mb and a gc to go sli. I allways say money you spend for the performance you gain
(are both card gone or just one)

SLI only works well in high resolutions?
Not the case orford 2x280 will easly beat 1x280 on fps in sli, and 2x4870 will easly beat 1x4870 on fsp in crossfire, sli and crossfire are not to do with res but more to do with power (fps), res = memory the more memory the higher res, because it can load larger texter sizes and also how the game works (lot more to it but keeping it simple).

orford pointed out your power, that is a good place to start (yes it is) your 2900 xt will use 160 w just for one and 300 w for two, (at idle) at full load is 600 w, you will see what i mean on the review link, so are you sure your psu is not on the blink anyway will speek to you in ts

yes micky 2x 280 will be better in fps than 1x280 but don't think you gone get dubbel off fps i had 2x8800 gts 1 card gife some 3dmark score off 6*** but in sli it only going to 9*** so
and 500 euro for yust 1/3 performance more Hhmmmmm but if you got the money to burn go for it i realy hate ATI but the f**ker have the fastest gpu @ the moment

mornig all well card went in ok but then i decided to uninstall some tool bare on the browser the wife or kids added and boom internet explore fcuked up took me 3 hours to fix it was well pissed off then i lost $50 dollos on pkr.
