Joining squads to get your favorite kit
Okay so what I see people doing sometimes is just joining a random squad at the beginning on the game to get their marksman or sniper kit or whatever, and then just leave the squad to then create some lonely Echo or Delta squad, sniping for the rest of the game on their own.
What is your thoughts on this? In my honest opinion people doing this make a complete asshole out of themselves and totally take away the idea of teamwork. Shouldn't there be a rule against this kind of 'subpar' behavior to encourage more teamplay?

Re: Joining squads to get your favorite kit
Most of the time if they are caught they are warned about it, if anyone joins a infantry squad i am leading makes the AR and leaves they would hear about it. But your always going to get people doing it and its pretty hard to admin .

I KICK people for kit stealing, period! If the person doesn't ask the SL if he may take a kit and leave the squad it is, in my opinion, kit stealing.

Likewise Midge - I'll let the sniper (or whoever) trolley of (often) in his solo Humvee until he thinks it safe, then bam: !k or !kill.

Re: Joining squads to get your favorite kit
I'm ok with people doing it with sniper/hat/engi kits since they all shared pool resources with a limit of 2 on your team.
Aslong as they use them effectively; For example, I join a trans squad get a sniper kit then create a RECON squad, never just an un-named squad, reason being that 90% of the time nobody joins your squad and by the time somebody does, all the kits are being used in infantry squads or worse....
What I'm NOT ok with is stealing a squads shared resource being the follows - AR / Marksman / Grenadier / Medic / Rifleman AT.
People stealing specialist kits for that squad, EG. Somebody joins a 6 man mumble inf squad and takes a Marksman kit and then leaves. It creates annoyance, confusion and is unfair to the people in your squad.
As most people know me I'm a great Squad Leader, and I don't have time to deal with people that do this, if they do it to MY squad they don't deserve to be playing in a server where we promote TEAMWORK.
And in b4 you all complain about the sniper/hat/engi kits.
Yes a HAT kit is useful for an infantry squad, and annoying when you only have a rifleman AT in your squad to protect you against armour is annoying, but these kits are TEAM shared, and can be taken by anyone, do you really want a sniper in your squad as an infantry squad? Not really... Does it make a huge difference having a Sniper in your squad compared to out there doing recon? not really... The problem with kit stealing is that the person taking the kit needs to know how to use it to it's full ability rather then "Oh It's my favourite kit".

I kill them. I usually do "!kill Not so fun now is it?". Sometimes, I'll kick them if for like Bullet said they take something critical to squad operation. If they ask, I'm dandy candy. I won't complain. But if you just nick a kit off me and peace, then I'm'a ruin your gaming experience like you just did mine.
You speak my language. Wait for them to get where they're going and nix em. I'm definitely doing that from now on.
As for having a sniper in an inf squad, yes actually. They provide immediate, accurate, long-range fire with pinpoint precision. They can easily knock the gunner out of an MG, a gun truck, kill an AR pinning you down, thin out defenses and they have all the added protection of a dedicated infantry squad. Yes, that role better suits the marksman kit, in fact, that is the whole role of the DMR, but a sniper does it with MUCH more efficiency as it's usually 1 shot 1 kill. But that's me. I can find unconventional uses for kits.

It really REALLY rustles my jimmies when a guy comes into my squad and makes off with a kit without a word. It really can disrupt a squad's effort and should fall under the lack-of-teamwork rule violation.

Re: Joining squads to get your favorite kit
And not even so much as "lack of teamwork", but if it causes your squad a problem, ergo, affects the people in it, that one person is affecting the gameplay of up to 5 other people. I kick people for that. Even if a specific rule wasn't broken.
That's the point of being an Admin. All rules aside, it's to be there to maintain the gaming atmosphere, whether it be changing maps, clarifying things, helping new players, or, if necessary, providing a show of force. Removing people who disrupt the gameplay is a necessary function of being an Admin. If them jacking a kit from you causes a problem, I remove them under the pretense of disrupting gameplay, because let's be honest, it is disrupting gameplay. And although there isn't a specific rule against taking kits, disrupting gameplay is a big no for me.
That's why I believe it's stupid at the fact that we have to write out every single damn thing we do for these idiots who have absolutely no forward thinking. Like the whole destroying fobs/caches while seeding a server. Are you kidding me? There's something called common decency, something that should be classified as a superpower mind you. If you don't show it, I'll make you. And doing what I just mentioned is disrupting gameplay for the ENTIRE server, that is generally something I immediately kick for. NO questions asked. Disrupt a whole team or the server, and you're gone.
But I digress.

Re: Joining squads to get your favorite kit
If I'm not mistaken, the stealing kit from sqds issues, goes under the !tw rule and should be dealt with arcordingly by a !k so they learn it quicker, it works, I've tried it, noone joins my sqd, to steal a kit and f*ck off again, anymore.. :p hehe.
Think I'm gonna do like Dobs and Midge, kill em' when they get to where they were going.. hehehehe

I hate when people join my Trans squad just to do this. Most of the time, "You on mumble? Nope? Okay kick."
