Asset squads in mumble
I know and respect NWA don't want to go 100% mumble - but after watching on your servers the correct annoyance (IMHO) when a heavy asset squad is not on mumble the hate and flaming they receive. Not very nice to watch and witness so ....
Suggestion - Rule or admin watchfulness that one player (not necessarily SL just someone) in a heavy asset squad is on mumble SL channel and using it?
We all know the relative futility of passing up to date intel via markers or chat.

Re: Asset squads in mumble
It's been discussed plenty enough on our boards here. Usually the general consensus is that it's still quite a bit of work to make sure every squad asset is on mumble.
I do agree with what you say however. Heavy assets should be on mumble, as should pilots be. There are more admins than just me though, and not everyone is willing to tab out and check if people are on mumble all the time..

Re: Asset squads in mumble
head/wall situation, as discussed some players genuinly cannot run momble for love nor money, god knows why not, but to exclude good players because of it is pretty poor
we used to survive ok before it came along didnt we?

Re: Asset squads in mumble
The two reasons I brought this up are:
1. saw a lot of raging and 2 way flaming when CAS on BS refused to join, many players moaning about it, they eventually caved in under pressure from players to let a mumble crew take over - looked messy and unprofessional on the server
2. Only one guy needed so there has to be one in the squad who has and can run mumble?
I've got twin screens as I'm sure many have - some flash git has even got three I saw....
We used to manage - true but the teamwork expectation has somewhat evolved because of widespread mumble use IMHO.

Re: Asset squads in mumble
Having two screens is not as remotely as common as you might think..

I think admins should just hold the right to check if the heavy asset squad is on mumble, and if there are mumblers on that want to use it, they should get priority.
It's a teamgame, and we should (lightly) enforce it like that, a simple mumble SL or Chat check.

Apply for admin, Rob. THEN we talk about giving admins moar tasks!
With the |GT|-clan i held up the "Gurkenplantage", a vanilla ranked server , i know what it takes to host, and i know PR is more complicated.
And long time ago we all came to the conclusion that we keep it that way. We all (regulars, members, barracks, the blue juniors, even the green seniors) were once pubber-n00bs. When i am new to a game, i would leave a server that treats other players with preference because they... well, whatever... made a fanclub on facebook, or use i-tunes.
U no whut i meen?
