Could get interesting. I'm going to keep my eye on this game.

Now that I have some time to read the website and watch the alpha footage I have to say that the game is gearing up to be a solid title.
One thing that struck me most was the ability to dial your gun on tanks or if you want you can gestimate your shots. A persistant war with a chain of command really makes this game stand out like Planetside(read: Planetside 2 is being developed). A low level grunt will be part of an Assault team which is led by a single person. Assault teams are armies or clans who can attack cities or locations, although Assault teams do have their limits. These guys are what the commander is going to send to the meatgrinder.
Above the Assault teams you've got Strategic Commands, these people can be appointed by Assault teams to make strategic decisions, handle defences and manage war factories to make planes or tanks. The last echelon is the Supreme Command. These guys control the resources and locates them to the Strategic Commands. The Supreme Command can also relocate the capital if threatend.
The game will have different victory conditions so taking over the enemy capital won't be the only way to win. A battle starts when one Assault team meets the other on a strategic resource like a city, airfield or factory. Commanders can call in off-map support and airplanes to a contested area to help support their team. Players with pilot kits can fly these planes to wreak havoc onto the enemy team. If you're not in an Assault team you can always join a battle. A player will be able spawn on points captured by the team just like AAS on BF: PR. Now I'm sure there will be more modes to play a game like planting an explosive device onto an objective or holding a certain area for x amount of time but this is just guessing.
Players will be able to customize their appearance with pieces of clothing like BF: Heroes, and possibly camouflage. Weaponry will be decided by what your Assault team specialization will be. You don't even need to be at your computer to support the war effort. Applications for smartphones or social networks will be implemented to decode enemy intelligence, boost factories or help people get back into the fight all linked onto one persistent server.

An MMO that seems to work more or less like this.

Yeah it was fun and all. Always a dedicated commander online planing long term battles and so on. Like "oh no they took out our factory in grossenhülfenschangen (not a real name by the way), we cant get tank support over at next town" ect. Pretty cool. But the old mechanics really took a big chunk from the game.

Because of the nature of the game (a central running warserver), orders can basically be sent from any device connected to the internet. Our first implementation is via a tactical-overview in a web-browser, and will soon also include Android and iPhone apps

Looks damn fun.
Is there going to be a moving front-line across Europe or something, because that would be ball-achingly cool.
Hopefully it will turn out nice, not like the walking abortion that is RO2, christ that game annoys me.
Oh and Axis simply because they have sexy sexy uniforms and I can employ my pig-german-english.

I read on their forums that they are possibly going for a positional communication system and a team communication system. But they are also looking into getting VoIP for the Assault Team Leader and Strategic Players.
Mortars will also be featured in the game although not completely fleshed out it is quite possible we will be able to deploy a tactical mortar. That is as far as I can tell. The system will probably either be like PR or FH2.
Something I can say with certain is that the terrain, like grass and shrubs will be visible at a distance. So this means that when somebody hides in grass he will be harder to spot than somebody who is prone on blank terrain. That really makes me happy because when I lay down on BF2 or Arma 2 I usually end up with grass or leaves infront of my screen and I can't see much but yet everybody else can spot me at long range.

Looks really intersting. I've heard of WWII online but never researched it or played it.
Apparently it's being developed in Denmark and they're even looking for programmers! (I'm still in school for another year so but maybe after?)
I think it's a really cool concept and they seem to be listening to the community. I won't get my hopes up until I see a near complete game but it does seem very interesting indeed. The whole multiple layers of game with some people shooting and others playing an RTS type thing seperately but connected is very cool.

Axis all the way. let's pray we get some SERIOUS armour (I'm talking E-100, or the Maus.. You WoT player's will know what I mean) in, or at least a Tiger II, Even though it's not practical, still awesome.

Axis, i would prefer that it would only be vehicles from the war, no VK series, E series, IS-7s, Maus, American heavy T series, just actual war vehicles. With the ultimate Axis armour being the Tiger II and the KingTiger.

Arh sorry, ment the Tiger II and the JagdTiger,
While the Pzkwf 6 was a legendary tank, the Pzkwf 7 was a far superior fighting tank in theory.

I'd love to see a Jagdtiger SO much.. I'd even be happy with a Jagdpanther, equally awesome tank destroyers in their own right, bar all the real world issues such as Mechanical failures, power to weight ratio etc :/

The spawn system isn't bad, it's a conquest game-style where you've got to cap like seperate points all in one line, so it's designed for frontal engagements. A different feature is, is that you actually "Spawn" in the vehicle, IE, You have a delay (like 30 seconds for a plane) on spawning, but you'll spawn in a plane on the runway ready to take off. Obviously you can jump out and parachute etc.
There's plenty of glitches, I can't max the game because of it crashing when I change the shadow textures, and it keeps reverting to 640x400 4:3 but I got it to my native resolution, but still can't set the shadows as it crashes.
Another annoying one is on the sniper, the scope spazzes out (IE, You can't aim it jitters so badly) and your hand is in the center of the scope. But, the ironsights are so small you can no scope at close range with like 90% accuracy.
Overall? It's alpha. I can't critise the game because it's alpha. The problems I've mentioned are fixable in patches, and I'm sure it'll be fine for beta/release. This game is coming along nicely, bring on commanders and full-on battles with 64 players+!

I wouldn't go there Chris, I doubt a native english speaker could understand that, as I sure as hell don't.
And speed, give it a chance. Nobody wanted to play minecraft when that was alpha, now look at it. Indie companies rock when they hit something that's stand out from the rest of run and gun FPS' now a days, so let's at least wait til a proper beta before a half-baked judgement can be received.

I played Minecraft when it was in alpha, hell I liked it so much I gifted a copy to a friend.
Still waiting on my alpha key but as you said it is in alpha. I got that from the screenshots, videos and dev blogs. I just want to get the general feel for the game.
