I just uninstalled Arma... My laptop is most definitely not the s**t so it lags. But if you guys are using Acre and all that cool stuff I might be bothered to install it all again.

Does ArmA 2 have in game VOIP? Or do you guys tend to use teamspeak to play? Whats the online multiplayer like without being in a clan? Do many people actually use teamspeak?

It does have ingame VOIP but we use an addon/mod called ACRE which replicates a positional audio and radio system using TS3, essentially just like mumble but better.
Online multi is generally rubbish (imo) unless you play at UnitedOperations or with us (hence the organised ArmA night). For such a realistic game there is a surprisingly low amount of teamwork on public servers.

Thanks capitan but that's the one I used. The 32bit version link of Acre seems to be dead.
The 64 one is working, but I'm guessing it wont run on my 32 bit system?
Edit: A side note for all of yous who I'll be playing with. I'm running Arma on the very lowest graphics, I might not be the most reliable team mate due to lags and other stuff.

Oh my bad, thought they were all working. Grab the manual install and copy the folder/file structure from there. I think if you just use SixUpdater it will update the ACRE files to the current version (?).. you may need to copy the 32bit TS3 plugin .dll file over though. Or you can just copy it all over yourself, shouldn't be too hard

Yea, more missions, insurgency when we can get a couple full squads up, and NO CAS!!!! as awesome as it looks, i think more people on the ground is better.

Orange was talking about some particle effects mod he was using. ArmA2 without mods is kinda terrible? Some missions have revive, some dont, etc etc. ACE does complicate stuff considerably, but also improves a huge part of the game. ACRE is also far far superior to ingame voip

I think the main problem was so many people having connection problems; made it hard to keep everyone together. Would have been better if we'd been on Orford's comp.

Well to be fair, a lot of those problems also occurred with peoples teamspeak connections and had a lot more to do with their end than mine, I believe even if Orford hosted they would have still been connected, it probably would be a smoother if Orford hosted, but Xazpers ISP was playing up on him.

Stupid (yet awesome) APB took up all the weekend. What do you guys think about a regular ArmA night? Every other Tuesday or something fortnightly? I guess this depends on the availability of the guys that can properly host a server with 7+ people
