Which Windows 7? Empty Which Windows 7?

Post by Bang2Rights Thu 31 Mar - 9:26:31

Hey all,

Bit of a swift one I afraid, so first on the buzzer... ...need to know by lunch time today.

The Father in-law can get me a couple of Windows 7's. Question is, which ones, home, professional etc etc

I'd like to use it as an up-grade, but keep it as a full backup just in case.

TA very muchly!

Always go for ultimate if possible, only grief I've had is 64 bit can't install any pre xp games cos of 64/32/16 bit etc comparability mode won't cut it.

So if you want old software do a 32bit version but I think if your multi core 64bits better (I think)

Do you get it on student discout as im registerd for software for students. I can get the update version of win7 ultimate for £60. You dont need a full version as the upgrade is the full version just checks you have a windows OS already installed on your HDD then wipes your HDD and dose a full install.

The one I have is a full version from a local computer shop who sold me a OEM copy of home prim for £80 he shouldnt of but I buy alot of stuff from him when I need to faster than I can get it from overclockers.

Cheers mate.

I'm getting them for free. My Father in-law runs a non-profit organisation, he has to lose the excess funds for this year, hence the kind offer. Its also why I have to get in there quick, cos of the new tax year.

I'm running Home Premium on my MediaPC (a Dell Inspiron 560 Desktop). Simple as you like, no fuss, no administration tasks. I have Ultimate on another machine but I much prefer the Home-for-simpletons-Premium version..
