well, could use training on anything drivable on the ground...

and ofc could give sum training in sniping:
- equipment, loadout
- tactics (scoutsniping, supportsniping, 1/2/3-man squad)
- judging terrain, judging shot conditions, defining the shooting range
- target aquisition search, preparing and taking the shot

stuff for a whole session, but just for those who have the patience to attend

I guess I might give a course in being a Medic if anyone wants that. I'm pretty sure I'm up to speed using that :)

Probaply something like this:
What gear to grab
How to safely heal your wounded (drag, carry them out of fight)
How to patch someone up using ACE

I guess it's pretty straight forward but hey

I'd be glad to help wherever I'm needed, though I'm not sure I "specialize" in anything. Maybe as an assistant? If a sniper/marksman course is set let me know.

While were on the topic of training I'd just like to say to all the pilots and aspiring pilots that I cannot stress to you enough how important landing on slopes and tight areas is, so practice! It took me a long time of practicing how to do it, with plenty of fireballs, but it is an invaluable skill on maps like Clafghan. Today I extracted Kerre and Dutch from a very small hillside clearing while flying in first-person with a Chinook, and let me tell you that there are few things as rewarding as that when flying transport!

Would anyone be interested in a squad leading course? It is something I've wanted to try but never really bothered to learn.

voodoo, the pilots should be last thing we learn, since not evryone will be (or wants to be) a pilot, or they hardly will be needed.

but the EOS course will help evryone on the ground, especialy during missions when roles can change very quickly.

evryone with a special ability should work out a lesson plan and PM it to me or snippers, i would like to take the position as additional drill instuctor.

If you want it professional, Xasper might be the man.

About CAS, players should learn how to lase targets and vice versa for CAS to learn how to attack lased targets.

That's something I really want to do, be an SL. Snippers allready put me to the test a couple of times but I just dont really know what to do; If anyone decides to do SL course let me know.

+Chris what's EOS?

@ Zach, that extraction was epic mate, good job on you and Gijs :) (dutch)

Also this, I remember when Chris and me were Scouts on some map and I just couldnt get a laze to work, battery wouldnt load or whatever it was. Did manage it other times though, still might be handy

I could use some training. Got the hand some basics but can always learn more. I'd like to be a transport pilot or on the field the support gunner.

also, Chris, don't be so quick to shrug off others as "unneeded". A pilot has infinitely more uses than a sniper does, considering your role is very niche and more often than not impractical.

We need a basic intro course:

Intro Course - Teach people to use all the basic equipment
Instructor - Most of us?
- ACRE - 343/148/117/119 Radios
- Rifle - alternate sights
- Grenade launcher
- AT - Anti-tank
- Marksman basics
- Medical
- Earplugs/masks/googles
- How to pack gear + rucksacks
- Stamina system
- Map usage basics
- Compass/Watch + Shack tac hud
- Driving using E!
Am I missing anything here?

- Proper radio comms?

Stuff to potentially do
- Range finders lasing/DAGR?
- Armour vehicle targeting systems
- Crew service weapons ?
- Mortars?
- Frag Grenades we need to get good with these!

Transport - Helicopter training - Instructor: Zack???
- DAGR waypoints?
- GPS for navigation using pre marked points on the maps?
- Use approach vector + glide to the landing point
- Picking up Vehicles

Squad Leader Training - Instructor Snippers:
- I'll put something together for this. This will be more theory, as it's mainly preference based.
- I think we should train fire team leading first
- Very encouraging to see lots of guys up for this, I'll put some material together! Your best bet is volunteering for fire team leading.

Larger than a squad when we have more than 10 people we need to work on this a bit.

I'd be happy to help with all of the above, but someone will have to teach me about the things in bold.

- Proper radio comms?

This is a sticky issue as everyone has his own idea of what is "proper." Perhaps a standard procedure can be taught, but no requirements to adhere to it perfectly all of the time.

Stuff WE MUST do
- Range finders lasing/DAGR?
- Armour vehicle targeting systems
- Crew service weapons ?
- Mortars?
- Frag Grenades we need to get good with these!

These will really enhance the experience on maps like Clafghan. Could you imagine airlifting 30+ guys (with A.I. of course) to a FOB with a two-man mortar crew to support the assault against the Takiban stronghold? :D

Transport - Helicopter training - Instructor: Zack???
- DAGR waypoints?
- GPS for navigation using pre marked points on the maps?
- Use approach vector + glide to the landing point
- Picking up Vehicles

I would be more than happy to assist others in their quest to fly the rotary beasts.

Larger than a squad when we have more than 10 people we need to work on this a bit.

I'll be there front and center for this one. The problem with more than ten people seems to be, in my non-squadleading experience, that the forces are too spread out to work together. The different elements seem to watch the other element(s) and base their own actions off of how the others act, which leads to inaction and/or boredom. On another note, I would love to see more use of timed assaults!

Thats a point, kerre. The targeting per external laze is still buggy, or we just need someone to learn it with UO Instructors

Voodoo wrote:Well, I know it as EOD, which is Explosive Ordance Disposal

EOS is explosive ordnance specialist, so the guy placing mines, traps, charges and fires the explosive arms... basicly evrything that goes boom!
I translated the german EKE(Explosiv-Kampfmittel-Experte) directly :D
the "disposal" are those guys for the aftermath Razz

I didn't say unneeded, voodoo, learn to read. :x lol
I'm well aware of the fact that the sniper is a rare role on the field (just as the pilot!)... but its the only role i can offer to teach you besides marksman.

What i wanted to say was the other course will be more needed.
