So here's the story...

The round starts and by the time i have organised my squad with a bunch of randomers, we got in a helicopter and flew off to the H5kp9 compound just south of the airfield as there was a marked known cache in the airfield. my squad jump out and we patrol up to the entrance of the airfield where we flanked round on the western wall then the northern wall, taking out a techi and multiple contacts on the way. i left my AR to cover us while taking the rest of the squad to clear out the tower (cache location) with bullets flying over our heads all the time and my AR calling out contact reports, we reached the stairs, where without a specialist, we tried to breach the building. We all got wiped out. Luckily some hill billy had made us a FOB in M2 on the far east of the map down the road so we all respawned there while my AR still lay on the hill being contacted. This time i forced one of my sq mem's to get a specialist kit. We rushed in, roped up to the roof, cleared them from behind. I took point in the clearing of the next floor though and i intended to get a grenade through the door before entering. As i ran towards the door from down the stairs i see a shadow in the door way so i rush to drop the grenade through the door and leg it, thinking that this guy will try to leg it if he sees the grenade. no doubt he did and the grenade killed him and a few others. while holding the cache clear we called up the combat engineer who dropped c4 and we all got out of there. 1 cache down.

After this cache we were all stuck on the runway and there was no intel so i decided to call a chopper in to the castle. We had one fail landing where i jumped out on the highest tower and died, and the rest of the squad jumped out later on and revived me and we got a 360 degree all round defence and obvs up waiting for some idiot to fire an rpg into the air. No doubt they did 3 minutes later from B10 down in the construction, one of out chinooks took a strella (missed) so we quickly got into action. I led my squad down the hills to the SW of the castle and as we did this we gained a new member. A marksman sitting in around B/C9 that plateau. he gave us good obvs as we were moving forward and came out with a 15-0 kd. as we moved in we encountered many contacts which we suppressed with our heavy fire power. i had told my marksman to try to locate the cache building, so he did so and it was in the little temp building on top of the hill next to the gas cylinders. We moved in and killed two people on the cache, then dropped phos and go out of there. Unluckily i got stuck behind the cache and died :'( i told the rest to rtb and wait for my respawn. 2 caches down.

During this contact Sq4 had moved into the main central village with no problem and taken down the cache in around F7 area. 3 caches down.

Since there was no intel, we hitched a ride on a chinook to the airfield and set up a base to gather intel. Soon enough the intel came with a new cache in F4. I thought an area attack would be a good call as many enemy infantry had been reported so we moved up onto a hill which had eyes on and called in a very successful area attack. Despite our attempts we all died on assaulting from a damn sniper in the hills and the lack of communication between the squad. I thought i should attack from a different angle so we spawned in at the airfield and moved in west to the foxtrot column then down south but in doing so we got pinned down from a whole array of s**t. I called the retreat and we moved back the way we came however as we thought we were in the clear, two techi's in quick succession came flying over the hill and gunned us all down. we respawned at a fob in M5 and as we were moving back to the airfield contacts came from the M2 area so we checked it out however it was only a random contact. On reaching the airfield other squads reported another cache down in the castle. 4 caches down.

We then had gained enough intel to have a new known down in L12 and as most of the contacts were in the F6 cache which was majorly ticket bleeding us. We hopped on another chinook from the airfield to M9, built up a fob and snuck in round the back. It was fairly simple and painless apart from one death on the cache which was quickly revived. 5 caches down.

While moving to L12 sq4 had taken out the F6 cache as the taliban were getting ever more confused as to where they defended, we were getting one step ahead of them. 6 caches down.

Over sl radio from *NwA* stocky ''CACHE ON SQ 7 CACHE ON SQ 7 NEED HELP'' quickly after that report he recieved from me ''sq2 reorged and will be with you ASAP eta 4 mins'' and then from sq6 ''sq6 double timing it eat 4 mins''. We had been fighting sq6 from the start and were battling for top squad so i quickly replied, ''OW ITS OWNNNN SMILEY'' which was recieved loud and clear. As we were down in L12 and the cache was in K8 and Sq6 were in M6 it was pretty much even. both our squads legged it towards the same little building and me ignoring my grenedier in my ear saying ''ow please sl can i just fire on sq6 to stop them, i could hit them'' i say ''NO....(incoming) oh s**t incoom... ow wait its sq6'' haha it seems we had the same idea in both our heads. but my squad reached the cache only seconds after sq6 who had phossed it. 7 caches down. GG ALL.

cheers to stocky for reporting the last cache Great Operation Archer round 879428 ended with 2nd best squad. Credit to the chinook pilots and other mumble inf squads. Also cheers scotty for being my mentor and helping me develop into a well built person cheers Enjoy the read guys this took me a while . my love for operation archer still lives on :) haha
