sata2 second hdd not showing HEEEEELP!!

hi guys i need help my first hdd only has 56mb out of 160gb left i dont know how it happend but it did, ok so i connected my new hdd and it shows in bios and also in device manager but it is not showing in my computer neither do i have any access to it please help me. i have a ocz gamextreme 700wpsu so power isnt the prob help help hel[p

and also both hdd are exactly the same both are western digital 160gb same model etc my origional hdd is on the sata1 slot and second is on sata3 i am just going to try move it to sata 2 slot see if that helps

You should start with the lower numbered SATA slots anyway, but that's not the prob.

You need to go open "Computer Management" (Under Administrative Tools if you're on XP Pro) and then go down to Disk Management in the tree.

The missing drive should be found in there and you should be able to activate it from there, though I can't remember exactly how as it's been ages since I've needed to do this.

Use the device manager in the admin panel like mentioned above then format the drive to NTFS and it should then sho up.

You could just reformat, using windows disk, then it asks to restart, just turn off pc, don't continue with xp installation, next time you boot pc, your old hdd operating system will be there, along with another drice in my computer, which will be your newly formatted and rdy to use hdd.

I do this everytime I buy a new hdd. Put xp disc in, go through the steps as if you were gonna install windows on your new hdd. Reformat, then poweroff before it reboots back up.

The screen says reboot in 15 seconds after reformatting, just manually press the powerbutton on your pc. Then problem solved.
Make sure it is full format [not quick]
