yep, everyone has a 343, SL's and 2IC's have a 148 and a 117 (i suggest 2IC's turn them off or really low unless they have to take over the squad).

Date wise I'm really thinking next weekend or weekend after that.

Chinook can use cargo ropes but we can also load the zodiacs straight into the bays which is cooler and doesn't require a loady

FA18's have multiple loadout options that can be configured via an interaction menu:

"- User Interface - “Service Menu” This function is built in to give user/mission maker easy and convenient way to change load-outs, repair aircraft, refuel aircraft and apply custom paint schemes during the mission. This function is activated via action menu and it becomes available once aircraft is at full stop and near USS Nimitz deck, or any US reammo truck, or any in game Hangar."

"Initially creating just MULTIROLE load-out proved not really suiting all possible mission designer needs, so additional purpose built load out’s have been added. There are nine possible load out presets for both versions of aircraft. By default if you are using ARMA 2 CO vanilla game aircraft will be equipped with MULTIROLE load out. In case of GLT_MissileBox installed, aircraft will be equipped with special purpose load out – TFB MULTIROLE, which has proven to be most effective in MP/COOP missions.
- MULTIROLE load out is a general all weapons type mix, to give aircraft capability to react and engage in any possible mission.
- AIR to AIR load out is a pure dog-fighting scenario built, and has an external fuel capacity added.
- AIR to AIR 2 load out is also built for CAP missions but external fuel and range is sacrificed to carry more firepower.

- AERIAL REFUELING CAPABILITY “BUDDY POD” load out is available only for F version of FA18, and it has five external fuel tanks and capability to share this fuel with squad to increase mission range.
- TFB MULTIROLE load out is a purpose built for mostly CAS missions in MP environment with mixture of bombs and missiles and utilizes maximal aircraft payload capabilities."

If I understand this correctly, the idea is that the 148 can be used exclusively for squad to squad comms and the 117 and be used for Transport/CAS. It is much quicker to switch radios than to switch channels in combat.

Depending on your role smarty you'll only need to learn 1 radio (343, inner squad comms). If you go CAS or SL or whatever you'll probaply need to learn 117 or 148 etc.

little bit *read very* pissed but yeah, 343 = inter squad comms, 148 = squad to squad comms 117 = squad to trans/cas comms so smartiez you only really need the 117.

The reasoning between having a 117 and a 148 is that the 117 has a larger range and is also a backpack so 2 birds 1 stone. Still need a SL and all of Charlie squad.

Also does anyone know if a SL can access HuntIR rounds fired by someone else in the sq. There is a demo guy with a 203 so wondering if i should add them or not.

Possibly too much interference when things get hectic. Personally, I like the channels to be more specialized. This way there will be less people vying to relay information. But still have the people who are the communication nodes get the information they need. Also you have the ability to lower or mute one radio over the other for better communication between two people. Ah well, I am not the CO for the mission.

because when people are talking to CAS and trans the other squads (who might be in contact) don't have to listen to it, plus the 117 comes as a handy ace backpack.

My idea for comms is:

Individual squads on individual 343 frequencies

Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Sniper squads on 148 net on a freq so they can talk without cross chatter from CAS/Trans (who if they are bored can listen in I guess)

CAS and trans on 117 on second frequency.

I find it easier to quickly switch between radios in combat than to switch channels. Plus the follow up combined ops mission after this one will require 117s and 148s so for continuation sakes

AH-1W: On top of the chain gun, it's capable of carrying varying assortments of eight TOW missiles, eight AGM-114 Hellfire missiles, and two Hydra rocket pods (14 rockets). The AGM-114s are AGM-114K (laser guided).

AH-1Z: Can carry two configurations (both have the chain gun). The first has sixteen AGM-114Ks and two Sidewinder missiles, while the second brings only eight Hellfires with two Hydra rocket pods (38 rockets) and two Sidewinder missiles.

Basically the AH-1Z has more power and carries more to the fight. If you are going for realism then I wouldn't recommend including them as there aren't as many in service as the AH-1W.
