Landing verticaly is the only way to land it, and taking off verticaly is possible but you would have to climb up to about 800m which seems pointless and it is just faster to taxi to the takeoff-lane and do it horizontaly :D

Well you can follow the progress on Realitymod.com, find it in Falklands subforum and check "design plan". It will shouw you what do they need to do, what they have done yet, and how much % of the map they have :)
