Ow I remember playing the first game a couple of years ago. It really felt awesome zerg rushing an enemy base. Trying to destroy the generator or disable the spawn room.

yeah man, but look at the new graphics! They're awesome for an MMO don'tcha think?

We both know graphics aren't everything. Shadows and the colourpallette are very import parts of games too. Now I haven't looked up anymore information about this game since its reveal I really hope they can keep the wide open maps from PS1.

Sorry Da-Fort, didn't see the reply, Indeed, it's not just the visual aesthetics but the little things in the background all collate together and make the game so much better! I need to stop talking like it's my english exam Still.. I really hope they incorporate teamwork mechanics, I did read somewhere theres benefits for playing in guilds

We'll definitely have to set up our own guild, plus the games free anyway so there aren't many excuses not to play together (I think the only thing you pay for are cosmetic s**t that you put on your soldier, but it's not game changing.. even stuff like paying for early unlocks would be fine for me, since you get the stuff anyway)

I will be all over this piece when I get accepted to the beta (or it comes out, whichever is first). Hopefully my PC won't melt, but I doubt it given the supposed minimum requirements.

Finished watching the PS2 livestream that went on from midnight for over 2 hours. Was quite nice to see everything in action. I would suggest creating an outfit as soon as the game gets released. Would be quite nice to see us actively disrupting enemy positions. In an outfit there can be multiple platoons consisting of several squads. That equals to a lot of people. Platoons can be specialized so Commanders can use those platoons more tactically.

Of course that means joining the same faction. I vote for TR! Remember: "Better Red than dead!" Anyways I will link the livestream recording as soon as it gets uploaded. Too bad there was so much Smurf and Barney bias. The Terran Republic has, is and always will be the superior faction. TR has their moments during the stream.

The game will be F2P. The store will sell customization options. Basically vanity items. I believe it will also sell some type of experience booster but that is to be expected.

There will be a beta before release. With the amount of exposure it is getting it might be slim to actually receive a key. In the vein hope you are one of the lucky ones to be at E3 and reading this post, get your key from their stand. If only to gift it to me!

You might be able to have multiple characters for the 3 factions. If it is anything like PS1. Worst comes to worst you might have to buy a character slot? Though I have seen no indication that would be the case.

I dont care which faction, as long as we can squad up and bring the PR teamwork skills to PS2

Apparently there will be mobile apps where you can view the map and join VoIP without being at your computer. So you can still keep up to date or command your forces or give them directions as what to do. In addition there will be library/glossary of all the weapons and faction information.

Its ok. They did not continue the key give-away on FB. Twitter, they sent a ton though. I am hoping to getting another stab at the keys again.

You can just visit their FB page and wait until they put up another picture with the keys. Pick a random one and type as fast as you can. For twitter you do need an account though.

Same here I made a twitter account few days ago Im now following them and I synced my phone with twitter so when they post it my phone will tell me.Atleast I dont need to look at their page and press F5 until they release it

EDIT: I got a key from their Twitter feed. I am set up now.

FML. Spent like 4 hours last night, no key.

So during an interview with the Executive Producer from E3 he said: "During the next few weeks we will be letting trickles of folks in." I am skeptical if that will be the case.

If you are mulling about what side to join here is what the factions are in a nutshell. I have not read the lore of the game so I got this from another forum. The game will only allow you to have 1 character per server. So if you really want to play as another faction you can still join another server. You might even find an Outfit to play with for a while.

• The Vanu Sovereignty are a group of people who want to better themselves through technology and eventually ascend to what the Vanu became. In the process losing their humanity. They perceive everything that stands in their way as a threat. Consequently, the other factions have the territory. The VS use high tech weaponry to defeat their foes. These weapons have a power drop-off at range but to compensate have no bullet drop.
  
  
• The Terran Republic is run by an oppressive government but have lasted for more than a 1000 years in peace. They believe that order is what truly creates freedom without some Big Brother watching you. The TR have a conventional army that use conventional weapons. They rely on a high rate of fire and speed instead of raw power.
  
  
• The New Conglomerate who want all to be free. Though they rely on corporations to fund their little rebellion. In which case the corporations will probably run the show in the end. The NC use weapons that are a bit more experimental in comparison to the TR. Their weapons hit the hardest but have the lowest RoF and take the longest to reload.

Personally, I will go for TR as that was the faction I played in PS1. But you already knew that by now. I definitely like the speed of their vehicles and their rate of fire. But the reload time is what really stands out to me. Other than that the NC have the coolest looking vehicles and MAX armour. Giving credit where credit is due. VS have a cool hovertank and the fast turning Scythe.

Impossible to get a key they go so fast on twitter o.O

Any tips on how to do it fast?

It is really hard. I got lucky because 14.8k people where slacking off and the keys were not jumbled up yet at that point.

I use 2 windows. One for the twitter feed and another to redeem the key. The second screen is used best by going to Planetside 2 and clicking on "Station Account" and logging in. If you get some screen about giving some information just press cancel. Then go to "Enter activation code". Make sure you click on the box where you type the code in. From there you should be able to copy and paste the key. Dubbelclick the key part and alt-tab that into the box. Rinse and repeat. Do not forget to refresh this page! It will log you out automatically.

Now for the annoying part. Twitter will block you after X amount of refreshes during a certain time frame. I made several accounts to combat that. When Twitter denies you access you simply switch account. I made 3 and log out when the last one has been blocked. Logged out you will be seen as a guest so you can use that as your last one. After some time you will be allowed access back again. Use CTRL+R to refresh the page without having to move your hands. The best case scenario is when you refresh and the twitter post comes up as "Now". If you see it 5 seconds in you might be out of luck. Give it a shot though. It might be possible to set this up with macros but I could not be bothered.

That is how I have done it. I also got a second beta key that I gave to one of my best friends. He is not a clan member. He actually messaged me on Steam after years of silence. Going on a leap of faith about Planetside 2. The reason I got it was because I tweeted @planetside 2 about some videos I made showing off stuff. You can also try creating fanart or funny gifs. They do not have to be graphic artist quality. Even crappy editing can be funny. Try to placate the twitter person. If he likes a certain faction try working that as an angle. Do not spam as an idiot. Try to be creative in your tweets.

Not certain about what factions the twitter people are but you can always read their tweets to find out.
