Star wars the old republic?

Does anyone else play this?

I was going to get it because SW:KOTOR was such a great game but then I heard you have to pay monthly to play it. Do you play it? How fun is it on a scale 1-10?

Its an mmo and its plays great and has a really good and diverse stroyline for each class and I would say it is the most fun to play mmo I have ever played so I would say in the 8 region of fun.

No not a big fan of Star Wars etc.

SW:KoTOR was brilliant, this appears to have multiplayer aspects which I'm not convinced is a step forward.

I'm playing it atm, got a 33 trooper vanguard, can't remember what server im on though. I'll edit this when I look. Loving it btw, like a cross between the typical mmo feel of wow with the story and immersiveness of mass effect. Very much into PvP and space missions atm.

Played the free weekend.. WoW is much better, and I'm a f*****g huge Star Wars bumfan.

Not much into Star Wars, more of a BSG fan myself.

I haven't played the game myself but I remember some stuff. Looking at the game objectively. It has great storytelling from BioWare and uses the iconic dialoguewheel. This game is being marketed as a co-op MMO. Rightfully so because you can group through your storymission and that from others.

But there is one thing they didn't tell. Some storymissions you can only bring people form certain classes. So it is possible you'll be stopped by a green forcefield. During conversations everybody can choose their own replies. Problem is that you might effect the other guys story. Who gets to talk during these conversations? The game decided for you with an invisible dice roll.

Spacebattles are on-rail Starfox shooters. That there really put me off from trying the game. Atleast in the old SW mmo you could fly spaceships and dock with eachother.

Jedi and Sith aren't the strongest class anymore. Which I think is a good thing as everybody would just go for these instead. Good in their own roles, classes and subclasses.

I cannot rate the game as I have not played it but if you've got the money to burn and you like Star Wars you can give the game a try. Not the worst looking mmo in both gamedesign and graphics wise.
