Chit chat on the server.

Can we all keep the chit chat using Global or Team chat on the server to a minimum. I had cause to temp ban a guy today due to receiving complains about him on the server and in TS. He has made a complaint that a lot of others were involved as well at the time and no action was taken against them. Although I was dealing with a complain about him on the server he has highlighted an issue that is going unchecked unless some moans about it.

So I feel it only fare I remind every one else to please keep the chit chat to a minimum. It is distracting when in game.

No problem! but i dont wanna be boring at the same time, there's alot of times i like to talk to the pubbers as well as play the game. But i take note of this and will keep it to a min.

Squad chat is fine violet, also is some banter.

It just gets like a wall of text some time when every one gets going.

I know I'm a culprit for this - I got one pretty big bollocking off Kop, and Haven't done much since.

Like you say though, I still like to poke a laugh at someone who just failed infront of me on the other team now and again.. or Give Smurf his daily cockney insult!

I think the occasional banter in all chat is perfectly acceptable, it portrays us as an open minded and humorous clan!

Having debates is for forums however.

i dont really type up much in team chat on the server but i do spam squad chat alot when im ::

It still is a game where you can meet great people, sometime in calm situation (like defending a cache) you got time to chat a bit.

Otherwise you can't really get to know other player and games are far less awesome.
Human contacts in NwA server is what makes it so good.

Not a debate folks, keep the meaningless chit chat to a minimum please. While you and 2 other people are filling the screen with bollox while defending the cache you speak of, there are 59 others who are having to deal with a wall of text who are trying to play.

If your so intent in getting to know pubbers let them in your squads.

I wonder what the issue here really is?

If people 'spam' (read: talk) on general chat everyone moans. But if you try to communicate with your team using chat because they refuse to use mumble, no one appears to read the chat anyway. So I don't see the issue people are having with a conversation? Because no one reads/sees it.

If you get distracted by just a little bit of text in the left of your screen then you really need to focus a bit more on the game instead of on the chatbox..

100% agree with you Nixy! chatting with people shouldn't be considered as spam? but i dont make the rules i just obey them..

Tell you what then if the admins that disagree with this would start to pay attention when people are complaning about the wall of text when they are trying to play, start to do some thing about it instead of thinking it dosent bother them so ignor the issue. Then I and other admins that are trying to make the server a better place to play can fook off and leave you too it.

I'm sure my status as a founder admin and a person who spent hours and hours admining the server to a high standard including reducing the amount of chat spam that used to go on. I know what went into making our server great and if your happy to ignor my advice your welcome to the results.

All I can say is thanks for your support, NOT!

Any chat/mumble whatever spam will not be tolerated on our server, not even from clanmembers or admins, if you feel the need to spam you will get treaten as every1 else with a kick.
