New laptop and PR:arma
So I finally got around to buying a new laptop. Hooray for me!
My other one is four years old.
It's got pretty decent hardware for a laptop. It's a i7-2600qm, 6gb of DDR3, Radeon 6770m, and win7 64bit. And It was cheap as hell.
However, when booting up today I ran in to some problems with arma/pr:arma. Everything works great, except for the menu text being horribly ugly. I've fiddled around but seem to find the solution. The thing is, when I installed it yesterday, I don't think I had this problem.
Anybody had the same problem?

I don't know the font used for ARMA 2, but a LOAD of source games get this problem in that the text won't load properly, so it'll look like a dyslexic russian smearing letters on your screen. I don't exactly know what you mean about 'ugly'.. pics?
And that's a decent spec for a laptop, more so if it was cheap

Re: New laptop and PR:arma
In the arma settings there is an interface resolution and a 3d resolution, set both to the native resolution of your screen. otherwise I have no idea. nice laptop!

Re: New laptop and PR:arma
Thanks.
Yeah I should probably be more precise. The text looks like it would be in the lowest resolution possible. I've tried to set resolution options to different setting. Currently Native (I've got the laptop hooked up to a 720p screen. So native to that screen not the laptop).
Nothing seems to change it.

Re: New laptop and PR:arma
Its the ATI card trying to do anti aliazing on the text, try new drivers from amd or turn AA to application controled. Was a issue for old ati drivers.

Re: New laptop and PR:arma
Very possible... one of many. Still pr arma is cool.
Still wanna fix i though.
Cheers orford. Yeah I already suspected that it might be forcing AA or something but it was application controlled. I've tried new drivers, didn't work. It might be the new drivers, because as I wrote in my first post, I vaguely recall it working late last night.

F*CKING SHITE HDMI AND HP!
F*CK!...
Sandy bridge got it's on graphic chip with its on software, so does the radeon chip and of course windows has the regular display setting...
That's three different interfaces with different setting that aren't synced, and only one or two different settings with in all the differet software will make the external display work.
It's like the most annoying puzzle where any wrong move will make both your displays go black and you have to start from the beginning.
