we all have been waiting for it so long and here it comes.... so what do you think of a new PR version guys?

new things I like so far: running :) run Forrest run!
new giga explosions

things I dont like:
driving a dirt bike.... omg where are my hands?? how could they develop something almost a year and make such a horrible driving animation model?
RPG and 50cal deviation --- its different so we have to get used to it.

Warrior gunner position seems to be bugged.

New map isn't so laggy for me, but I got a good computer. People with bad computers are in for a rough time.

I've not been on the insurgent side, but I've also heard the bike/hands problem.. aaaand, well, so far that's all I've seen.

not sure we will be able to compensate for new RPG, that thing is now more useless than ever ever before, almost like they've created an insurgenct mode that will kill insurgency, ho hum.....

AAS4 erm Does it even work ? not convinced

shoot prone, anything else pretty much don't work.

AA kit is broke i think.

yeah riding bikes no handed how do they even do that ? i mean surely the animation was already there ?

new release always brings a bit of a downer after the anticipation (all the new nubs as well never help) but this patch seems to be broken ? suppose we'll see over the next couple of weeks to see how many hotfix's there will be.....

patcher is broken...lots of ctd's...did a full install.
sprint is the same...reloads faster but also need to be almost full to run again. Medics cant heal themselves wich is the biggest drawback.
AASv4 doesnt look good at all...on shijia we've got 2 flags 5 milion miles apart... kinda boring...was expecting for the next flag to appear only after u capture the one before, and enemy flags not to be shown untill ALL flags are capped by the teams,but I was wrong.
So,except for UAV, not very excited, but we'll see in the future.

Keep in mind AASv4 has different routes (Shijia has 9 different ones), the mapper explained that the one you saw (2 flags far away) was an experience, quoting R-DEV AFSoccer "LOL... It thought it would introduce a good blend between AAS and CnC (especially since CnC is so underplayed). But it's only one of the 9 routes, so I'd be interested to hear how it plays out in-game."

I think that the only thing able reviving CnC would be removing mortars or make fob/assets invulnerable to mortar damage. If you think of it, mortars should only kill crew on .50, not make whole gun disappear. Oh and what is the purpose of a foxhole again?

medic kit nerfed again, a medic in RL would be able to heal one self. this will now mean that the whole if your a medic and you die the respawnee will automatically drop your kit and tell you to heal yourself which you cant unless you use your patches, which in turn will make you revive without dropping a patch thus dead deading if tryin to run for cover. sorry for long post a little bit pi55ed at this coz i like medic kit

I think its a good thing ( a medic should always stay in cover and observing whilst the big guns lay into the enemy! )

This should encourage more organized Teamwork in your squad!

I will get it patched up for 2moro and see what i tink..

It's gonna take some getting used to, but realistically, medic's wouldn't be sorting themselves out on the battlefield. The medic bag is just a simplistic way of showing the process of healing someone.

a good medic is a fighting medic (layin suppression and being able to take the fight to the enemy) and if a medic cant sort himself out who would? ofcourse he would sort himself out or he would die, ok major wounds ya prob gonna die anyway, but shot in the torso or legs you would do all that is necessary to get to saftey/back to the fight

If the adrenaline is pumping, apparently people sometimes don't even notice they get shot, until they see the blood. I wouldn't know. Never been shot and I intend to keep it that way.

But putting a bandage around your leg when you get shot in there should be doable, but your arms or torso will be quite a different story.

Anyhow, I also *%#$& HATE that 'done' button.

BF2 PR does not have complex wounds system like arma.

I think some wounds could be healed on yourself, some are incapacitating but honestly, who is better to patch anyone up if not medic, even when wounded? His trained to do so and being forced to drop kit for other person to heal him is even less realistic.

You mean the wound is so severe that you can't deal with it yourself but that's not a problem for a next man who gets all the medical training by just picking up your med kit Shocked ?

I wouldn't mind if healing was taking progressively more time to heal same amount of hp depending of how much hp is missing.

That would simulate different wounds healing time like taking bullet out of your buddy's leg take more time than fixing bleed from a scratch.

...but I doubt that's intended change and if it is... well it is gonna have negative impact on overall gameplay.

In RL, the field medic gives advanced first aid while waiting for "dust of", guys.
And no, he might not heal himself up.
Of course the medic has special training, otherwise he wouldn't be the MEDIC!
But this training does NOT include the drill instructer shooting rookies in the leg and tell them to heal theirself...
You never know how you behave being wounded, so if medic is hurt, your whole squad is soon to be doomed. And before that happens, evry SL would call the "dust of".

I agree scotty the graphics do seem more defined and crisper, it also runs alot smoother. Their are some bugs but overall I think the game has definitely improved, commanders now have the tools to do a proper job, performance and map tweaks are always welcome (love kokan so much more now and Jabal looks great.) and combat feels quicker, with bullets properly registering hits and movement speed increases.

Yeah the game have improved alot on several points. But it has also brought new bugs, glitches and so on.
IMO it's slightly better but not much.. And what have they done with my precious RPG-7!!?? so how do you like the new PR? 478534
I mean it's much better for anti-infantry now but that's not how I roll.

I don't mind the new RPG's at all.

Sure, you can't snipe people with them at 300+ meters, but that was never the intended use anyway.

I've practiced a bit in single player yesterday, and like I said, I've managed to hit targets of 150m (sometimes 200) pretty much spot on.

You have to aim high, yes. That isn't realistic, no. But the way it was wasn't good for game play either. People will learn in due time how to use them, and insurgency will be better off with it, I think.

I hate to say this, but my first impressions of the new PR reminded me a little of vanilla BF2 mainly due to the pace of the action. *cue flaming* Is it just me or is everyone suddenly a master marksman? Then again, I haven't had the chance to play in a good squad yet on the new PR.

I like that patch overall... new nice things added.
But there are more annoying Bugs than before like this "Autojoin-Bug" (No refreshing if you try to connect automatically to a full server)...its not working in my case

@ dragon, i think thats now a registered problem, it doesn't work for anyone.....@ nixy, really ? so its ok for blufor to have 4X zoom and thermal imaging for realities sake but heaven forbid the insurgents have realistic AT capabilities ? RPG's have a relatively flat trajectory for the warheads weight and are often used out to effective ranges of 400m plus, this has never been realistically modelled in PR, why if before they behaved in a counter intuitive way would the insurgent side be any better off now or in the future because the RPG is still modelled in an arbitrary way ? its illogical captain.....

If that is a 'realistic' depiction of the RPG it would never have been produced in real life. It's practically a grenade launcher at the moment (although even GLs have adjustable sights!). You have to look so far above your target it is just stupid.....
