Re: screen res
depends on the monitor really, is it 16:10 or 16:9 aspect? and what ever is its max res. google the model number? at 22" i would guess its gonna be 1920x1200 or 1920x1080

Re: screen res
If it's a 22" Syncmaster, it's most likely 1680*1050.
Always run TFT (Flatscreen) monitors on their native resolution. Else you will get screen tearing and that you don't want.

Mate, best to check out the manual that it came with or the specs. As Nixy said, run it in the native resolution (i.e. the one that the screen is made for) otherwise you get horrible tearing when you move around on PR. My last 22 inch monitor ran at 1920 x 1080

Just google your monitor and look for the specs and it will tell you kp.

Re: screen res
Which monitor do you have ? (and by that resolution I think you have a laptop?, so in that case, which laptop do you have )
Screen tearing can also come from more FPS than your monitors refresh rate can handle. Try turning on Vertical Synchronization (or VSync as it's more commonly known) to limit the FPS to your monitors refresh rate.
