I was wondering, due to Arma 2 Operation Arrowhead, since US Army in PR has the regular M4 carbine and M16 Rifles, why not replace those with the FN SCAR versions? I mean, EA has done 2 SCARS for the BF2 Special Forces Expansion Pack. Why not make at least a test model for Project Reality? For me, it would be more than awesome! Oh, and a crazy, CRAZY, idea: Why not put the M200 Cheytac Intervention .50 cal Sniper System for a team? That, my friends, would be FUNNY!! And for the Marksman kit, they could replace (especially in the Marine Corps) the M21 rifle with the M21 EBR rifle. Yeah, I know, I played a lot of Modern Warfare 2 back in the day... If anyone has any connection with the PR makers, why not suggest those? Could be fun! Thanks for reading my post, see you in the field!

FN scar is NOT in use by regular US/UK/PLA/RU forces...same thing for AN-94 Abakan, AEK971 Vintovka, PK Pecheneg, Type 90 MBT, DPV.
SCAR is used by SEAL and other special forces which are not present in-game

Why not add akimbo 50.cal class for russians?
Seriusly they have Millitary advisors, devs wont add anything if MAs say no.

Err...the HK416 family is 5.56 mm. That was the whole point of the system: to be a direct replacement of the M16.

H&K were producing 6.8mm uppers for their 416's around 2007 I believe. I like H&K, they've done wonders with the SA80 design, so I mentioned their offering.

"However, the US special forces (SOCOM) are going ahead
with the adoption of the FN SCAR rifle/carbine in Light (MK 16 in 5.56x45) and Heavy
(MK 17 in 7.62x51) versions. Heckler & Koch also offer paired 5.56mm and 7.62mm
weapons, the HK416 and HK417 respectively. The below shows the
HK416 at the top, the HK417 at the bottom and the experimental
HK416/6.8mm in the middle."

The other alternative for the M16/M4 format in the 6.8 round is the Barrett M468.

Ah I see. Can't see it being adopted for general use. NATO is too tied into the 5.56 and 7.62 mm supply chains. Took long enough for 5.56 to be accepted.

Corner shot has been suggested a lot for the IDF faction.

Though, it is hardcoded,.. just not possible.

Whehe, I'd love to see that ingame with the 'kitten' add-on!

people the original poster asked a question that many new to PR have thought up, cut the sarcasm please. @ weapons freaks, i read somewhere a long time ago that the UK MOD asked in the 1940's that NATO should use a 6.8 round but where roundly rejected by the US at the time because they wanted the 7.62, only a couple of years passed before the US then decided that 5.56 (.22" old money) would be the way forward........i suppose its about actually hitting the target, even if its a smaller less damaging round, a 5.56 has an incredibly flat trajectory making it easier to hit when target recognition to shooting times might be small. that's just a guessed opinion, i've only shot assault rifles at ranges.

I wasn't being sarcastic, I'm just thinking the javelin missile system would be a great addition. Although it would have to be very very limited lol. They had a demonstration of it in America's Army game. I don't know whether it is a COD-like weapon or whether they actually use it a lot in real life.

The javelin is used in real life by the US, pretty sure they used them invading Iraq. Not sure if it's possible to truly recreate it in PR, i have vague memories of videos of a javelin system in bf2/pr, i'll see if i can dig it up

A Javelin can't be implemented in the BF2 engine due to the trajectory, however I'm sure it'll feature in the ArmA2 version sometime as it's already in base game.

USA use's M3 Maaws and AT 4, because Javelin is to expensive, of course they use it some times but not what much as M3. Actually it would be nice to see in game M240 or even HK 416 and i actually miss Mark19's on HUMMVE's

yeah, i was thinking either a CROWS HUMVEE with a Mark19 or a Stryker with a Mk19...
M240 sounds nice but i doubt that they can put any type of scope on it like the M249 because of the recoil...

Its stupid the way them things can be fired effectively from the Hip!

Also: When marking inf , FOBS etc... on the map ( Not having to take 2 steps forward for it to be an accurate mark )
iv seen a few new SL's trying to mark things in say A6 - and they end up in Mic7 L oo L

a minimi on top of the logi truck would be awsome, or at least allow the passenger the ability to sit atop the roof, that way a dedicated logistic squad could be formed :D

pretty true to life to seeing as british trucks atleast have/used to have roof hatch
