New PC for Xazper. Feedback and advice appreciated.
Alright so i'm finally getting to the point where I can afford a new gaming PC. I have a pretty good idea of what I want but still I think it'd be a good idea to get some advice from someone who know what they're doing
Motherboard:
Asus P6T Deluxe V2
CPU:
Core I7-930 @ 2.8
GPU:
Nvidia GeForce 580 1.5GB
RAM:
Kingston DDR3 HyperX 1600MHz 6GB (3x2GB)
PSU:
Corsair HX 850W (Might be overkill but I' planning on 580 SLI in a year or two)
Case:
Fractal Design, Define R3 (Black)
Harddrive:
Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm 1 TB (Planning SSD in near future)
Cooling:
Corsair H2O Hydro series CPU cooler (I hope to overclock to at least 3.5 or so. Nothing serious I havn't had any proper experience overlocking. My current motherboard is crap)
I'm planning on overclocking a bit, installing a SSD some time "soon" and another GeForce 580 in SLI at some point.
So what's your take? any good or is it a go home and try again? From what I've seen around this shouldn't be half bad (Sure cooling is a bit amateurish) but I havn't bought hardware since my last PC 3 years ago.

What OS are you intending to use?
I built my machine 2 yers ago. I bet you could get something similar for under £400 now:
MoBo: Gigabyte GA-EP31-DS3L
Processor: Intel Core2 E7500 @2.93GHz Clocked to 3.37GHz
Memory: 3582MB RAM
Hard Drive: 640 GB
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTS
Monitor: Sony SDM-E96D
Sound Card: C-Media Wave Device CMI-8738
Headphones: Razer Barracuda 5.1
OS: Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600) SP2
Case: Coolermaster Elite 360
PR plays a treat - all settings on max. BUT ONLY IF RUNNING XP! I tried running Win7 got a WEI of 7.3 but had LOADS of conflicts: BSOD every few hours....I think because some of my hardware is a bit old. Make sure all your components are verified to run Win7 if you intend to use it....
What soundcard by the way? Its got to be Creative Labs X-Fi of some sort.... DON'T buy a cheap one like I did (SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio) its shite!
You going to invest in 5.1 headphones? I think they really add to gameplay - and you don't upset the people you live with!
UPDATE all DRIVERS before installing any software. Mobo BIOS 1st, then GFX, sound, etc. BF2 doesn't like it if you update Gfx or sound drivers after installing the game..
I've clocked mine, but only because I wanted to. Doesn't make one iota of difference to gameplay...
An SSD would be a much better bet than clocking.

Have Win 7 from the school. 64 bit
I wasn't planning on getting a soundcard at least not right away. I use onboard already and imo it's not bad. I already have a 5.1 headset and yeah it's awesome.
I'll take a look at the sites you guys suggested but i live in Denmark so I dunno if they ship over here or if it'll be worth it with our insane toll prices.

Mobo: Asrock P55 Extreme4
CPU: Intel Core i5 760
Cooler: Scythe Mugen 2 rev. B or Corsair H70 if you wanna to do OC.
MEM: 2x2GB DDR3 1333 or corsair dominator 1600 Mhz
GRK: 2x6870 ~2x220€ ->
Case: Cooler Master CM 690 II
SSD: OCZ Vertex II 60GB
HDD: Samsung EcoGreen F4EG 2TB
Voeding: Antec TruePower New Series 650
DVD: Samsung SH-S233C
Total ~€1280 (belgian shops)(don't know how much that is in your country )
This is a great one.
I7 is overkill ..., when It's only for gaming it's a waste of money.
I7 i smostly ment to do video editing ..., 3d moddeling ...
I got a I5-750 (diffrent between 760 is that mine is 2,6Ghz at stock and the 760 2,8Ghz). I overclocked it to 4Ghz ...
OS why spending so much money of you can do it with a another one ?

just putting it out there but does anyone actually use AMD processors?? i always have (well two) used them and found them ok for basic OC (currently got a Phenom 9950 Quad which is stock 2.8 GHz, and is running at 3.2 quite comfortably (2 degree higher than with stock 2.8) with stock cooling), and a lot cheaper than intel chips
same with ATi cards - a lot cheaper than Nvidia ones and can get some pretty decent ones now

AMD is more for video editing (every serie) because they use every core on a special way...
For GPU =+> Ati is the WIN !

didnt know that, just always found them cheaper (when i bought my pc it was a choice between a 2.2Ghz dual core intel or 2.8Ghz Quad AMD)

I always use Intel and Nvidia. I dunno i just always have. Yes they're more expensive and usually just a tiny bit better... I guess I just like blue/green better than red or something
If you're going to fork over your life savings for a new PC you might as well get that bit extra

850w is not overkill, the GTX 580 is recommended to have 750w or more.
Im going to get a 1000w psu to be safe for my 580.

850 is more than enough.

I just found that guys videos a few days ago too. Some cool stuff they have to show off.
Probably gonna get the TX and not HX PSU now as it's slightly cheaper and should work fine even with 2x 580 (omg I want 2 of those *drool*)
