BATTLEFIELD 3 (BF3): FULL ALPHA RUSH GAME

I did a quick search if anyone already picked this video up on a thread but I couldn't find anything so here it is.

Personally I dislike the use of Two Steps From Hell music. I believe I used a song or two in the past but these don't fit at all. The next video has one too but its a step up.

I don't know if I can put 1080p fullscreen vids on the forum but nothing is stopping you from clicking on the video and heading over to Youtube to watch it in HQ fullscreen.
On a side-note. Is there a way to hide a piece of text like a spoiler button or mouse-over?

I'm not sure about being able to fire between prone and crouch.

Do like the long knife anim. Makes it more of a risk to attempt.

I thought Dice said that they weren't going to have any dolphin diving.
We're going to have to see what is in the beta.

Any one noticed that on the menu screen there was no mouse cursor. ie, another fuking console port.



I though BF3 was supossed to be PC first game and ported to console not the other way round. Not once did I see him use lean to look round corners, oh thats right you cannot do that in a cosole COD rippoff game.You can do alot more with PC graphics. They look stale console looking. Ok the shawdows look good but thats all there is. the dust and destructive enviroment are missing he crawls through the bushes and they stay like bushes. No shooting holes in walls to make fire points.

If you're talking about the above videos, it's probably because he didn't have the capture cursor option on in whatever program he was using to record

You could see the cursor when on the webpage but I remember Fraps having an option to hide the cursor when ingame.

I noticed it too but I'm not making any over hasted conclusions.

I think we'll just have to accept that everything is gonna be consolified from now on, the simple fact is that it's where the money is at.

If you wanna support an awesome PC dev, get Red Orchestra 2 when it comes out!

P.s. BF3 still looks like a lot of fun, a nice change of pace from PR

looks like bad compant tooooooo much so it will very quickly wear off unlike bf2 did , but i hope it doesnt .

What I'm saying is Dice EA said BF3 would be designed from the ground up for the PC and then ported to console. All the press I'm seeing atm is console gameplay. Dumb downed graphics compared to the trailer we seen a few months back. Just a shame really.

Yep, I agree with you. That's the way almost everything is going these days. Started with CoD4 being such a huge hit on consoles, now all the big publishers want a piece of that pie. I predict within 10 years all games from all genres will have descended into a sprinting, twitchy, corridor shooter where weapons have no recoil and fire bullets that travel faster than light itself i.e. boring, samey bullshit!

With regards to the graphics, it's still in alpha stage, it isn't designed or supposed to look stupendous just yet. What they're testing is the coding behind everything, making sure everything works the way it should. Once they've nailed that, they will then lay on the better graphics and effects and fine polish it. This happens in every game in existence, the point of alpha and beta testing is to find flaws in the fundamental gameplay, not the looks.

A lot of the game so far looks like they've combined Medal Of Honour and Bad Company, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's not what a lot of the 'community' was expecting. Guess we won't really know until it goes live in October...

You gotta sign up to the newsletter on the bf3 website. Also it might go into your spam box, mine did

edit: so first impressions, played an hour before work instead of watching frasier haha. It's good, feels less arcadey than BC2. Bipods are great, can change fire rate on almost all the weapons which is nice. prone is back <3 the alpha is only 32 players so it's hard to tell how well 64 will fit into this map. it feels like it might be too small. can only spawn on SL again, but 4 man squads is a bit s**t, no real incentive to stay near your squad as far as i can tell. no commo rose, Q spots.

i hate playing alpha and betas it ruins the game for me id rather just wait for the full release

cant get it to run very slow ;-(

can some one tell me were the options button is for the game settings .....

any1 got a key for me ?? XD

kop, when you are loaded into a game, press esc, and the options are there. VERY limited, can only change gfx from auto/low/med/high and turn fullscreen on and off.

benjib had the same problem as you yesterday, it was running like s**t on his more than capable system. he got the latest graphics drivers and that sorted it? you got ATI or nvidia?

nvidea i got the new beta the did last night and altered the screen res i can now move around and i actualy killed some one lol, i must say it looks sh1t at the mo tho makes mine craft look good lol
