Skill... skill is landing with only one wing. Go ahead, look it up. An Israeli F15 pilot lost his entire starboard wing, RTB'd safely. They reckon the remaining wing provided adequate lift on its own. An amazing piece of engineering that aircraft.

Wow. Looks smoother than most of the landings I've been in!
It wasn't so much that the remaining wing provided enough lift, but that the body produced enough lift to balance the lift from the remaining wing so that the plane didn't roll around its longitudinal axis.

real piloting skill involves remembering to put your undercarriage down, otherwise very smooth.

wow cool.
From just seeing the video and nothing else my guess is the gear was damaged or something otherwise of cause he'd have put it down.
