a (relative) oldie, but its a goodie. one of the best albums of that year. recently started listening to it again and it still sounds as fresh

too much Radiohead for my liking hitman I find they are a bit overrated

capitan im doing a music course and these guys are supposed to be real interesting music theory wise, havent started listening to them until a few weeks ago and I quite like them though they are very experimental

yea, don't wanna sound like a music snob or anything butttt.....alot of the post hardcore stuff around that time is really interesting. lots of technical guitar playing, a very progressive sound.

I'd also recommend The Fall of Troy, same sorta thing. Doppelganger and Manipulator are both pretty good albums.

65daysofstatic - The Fall of Math and Mogwai - Young Team - give them a listen, see what you think.

a singer eh? i 'play' guitar, played for a few years, pretty much stopped whilst at uni (wish i hadn't) and i pick it up now and then these days when i find the time. and im not gonna lie, im pretty amazing at rock band drums

the last two are post-rock bands, 65dos being wholly instrumental. but excellent.

Reuben - Racecar is Racecar Backward
and ive been into the 30 seconds to mars 1st album( not the one with the kill on) and thats been pretty interesting.
other than that I'd suggest looking at Deftones - Diamond Eyes, Tool - 10,000 Days, Undertow (need to listen to the rest). There's loads I can recommend. Not really post hardcore but if you like that sort of sound you'll find the rest interesting.
