I can't fully turn off my computer.

Ok, I can't seem to get my computer to turn off. This is the process i go threw, Start-> Turn Off Computer-> Turn Off. But all this seems to do is stop the computer sending anything to my monitor it is more like it is in stand-by mode but you can't see anything on the monitor. I have to manually turn the power off at the power strip and cut power off directly to the computer. Otherwise i can hear the fans running and everything else. Any ideas or suggestion as of what to do would be greatly appreciated.

So ur computer is still running ? Like red light flickering and GPU AND CPU fans rolling ?

well i couldnt realy help without seeing, but if its doing that when u close down through windows what does it do when u press the start button to turn it off

You mean the start button on the computer correct?
