Seeding
Hi all,
First of all I would like to thank you for the wonderful Deployment server. It's been a pleasure to play on Your server as the server is being well adminned and has mature players on it most of the time.
However the population on the server has decreased greatly in the past few days, mostly because of the server crash which leads to a round of a seeding map that happens to be ins layer of Albasrah. I have no grudge against the map itself, but it has been too overplayed . Most of the times I have joined in recent days, it has always been on. It's a good map, don't get me wrong, but as it's being played too often, people don't want to join the server anymore.
That's why I made this threat to ask if there's any chance that the seeding map could be changed. From my personal experience I can tell, that the best seeding maps are the skirmish layers, as they mostly deny people wandering around the map, 2km away from enemy which mostly leads to players getting bored and leaving.
Thank you in advance

Re: Seeding
Hey Ted, thanks for all the kind words!
Although I am an admin, I don't have a lot of understanding on how the maplists work and if I can change it. I'm sure another admin will be along to give you all the info you need and is able to give you a solid answer:)

Hi Ted
Yes the map list can be changed, but if you want the map changed then you can always jump on ts grab me or another admin and they can come on to the server and change the map for you.
Ginge

Re: Seeding
Skirmish maps haven't worked as well for us in the past as well as Basrah has. There's a reason we keep it, it's tried and tested and has been proven to work many a time.
Skirmish can be a great way to get a server started as long as you have a nice set of people joining pretty quick. Who wants to jump into a skirmish map and shoot brickwork or one or two people when you could be driving a car around a desert and shooting RPGs at brickwork? :p There are arguments for both but we here at *NwA* prefer to stick to Basrah as our seeding map.
In regards to the server crashes, that's going to happen, a lot, on any server. I'm sure you're pretty aware of PR not being entirely stable server side. If the server does crash and an admin isn't on feel free to join our Teamspeak and give one of us a poke, if we're not busy dying in some other game we'll happily jump on and change it.
I'll be trying to switch the rotation a little bit every now and again, I'd like to get to it fortnightly but I've been a little busy with stuff. Watch this space!
Thanks for the feedback and remember to jump on teamspeak if you need anything.

Re: Seeding
Can we get Basrah back as the seed map please? I'm not sure what's going on at the moment but over the past few days I've seen it set to Dragon Fly and as I'm typing this it's Lashkar Valley.
Basrah clearly has its detractors but it is the only map that will currently seed for us. Fact. It is also the map the people that still play on the server (clan members and otherwise.) want to play.
Cheers,
biscuit
