To be discussed by the admin team. opinions, feedback, ideas, rules etc etc etc will be sorted by the admin team over the coming days.

To answer your question we have a complete backup of the old server, so yes it could the same or it could be cleared.

The main aim for 1.0 is 100 player servers. The asset load out in the maps are being balanced with 100 players in mind. Unless the DEVs make a asset loadout layer for 64 players. Ive not read any thing about that yet but have seen more tweaks to the assets to be more balanced for 100 players then they where for some factions and maps during the BETA such as Ramil INS where the INS side were very OP on the attack and secure mode and cache hunting mode.

100 player server specs.

looking into that now with other PR server hosts, seams that a AMD pheon II with 6 cores and 8 GB of ram running windows 2008r2 and having PR server running on a Ubuntu Virtual Machine set with 1 core (thats all BF2 server can use limited to 1 core) and 2 GB ram. maxed out the CPU core once it hit 73 players. But the rest of the dedi box was only reporting 20% load on the cpu.

More info is needed from hosts with different CPU and different VM setups as it could of been an issue with the VM handling. as yet no one knows what the minimum spec that is needed to run 100 players should be.

would be good, admining isnt really my main concern, we have a strong team, my main concern is team stacking. 20 of one clan on one side with 10 or 12 from other clans and none of them working together as theyll all want to play as there own little units.

No doubt it was all too often out of control during the Beta. In fact, I think one of if not the worst things about the Beta was the lack of admins. Good thing that won't be an issue in a few weeks when it releases.

Honestly, it wasn't even that OP, but the fact that there was absolutely no asset rules the Blufor team couldn't even get rolling. In terms of guns (with their scopes) they would win, outright.

In my opinion 80 is the number to go, enough players and enough room for squads. Otherwise you'll end up with not enough room for normal squads because as always you will clan squads and "tard" squads aka 2 men Recon squad with 2 guys who are not doing any reconnaissance.

That's what resigning and warning is for Pronk. There wasn't any real trouble with squad spaces being taken up, even with only having one admin on the beta servers.

Perhaps we were on at different times and different servers because the US servers seemed to ALWAYS have this problem. Had 3 or 4 man locked squads (with a max of 8 that's equivalent to a 1 or 2 man locked squad) and even lower player counts. Or all foreign squads and 1 or 2 English squads that had 4 players in them locked. It was.... rather frustrating. That was one of my biggest gripes with the beta.

Server is up but BloodyDead who admins the mumble server is away so he cannot move the mumble channel IP setup for our new server. and no VOIP.

Finally get sorted but no mumble ffs.

Thanks, turned out the providers FTP was blocking some file types from being uploaded. so after me spending ages trying to get it run. we had to delete the lot and rar the old backup from the old dedi and get the provider to unrar it and then Daze edited the config as i was busy.

Was a learning curve for me, will know for when we hopefully get a new dedi box and get some 100player action.

If we want a 100 player server the price per slot will go up due to the extra hardware resources needed to cope. Then you are back into dedi box money if you include TS and a extra server for weekends now we have more admins to help admin.

Who knows what will happen.

As we have no mumble or voip we could lock the server and arrange some PvP skrims on skirmish maps. If any one is up for it I'm sure Daze or Kop can adjust the map list and PW the server.
