It won't be like a harrier to fly. That's the engineering genius behind the Osprey. It flies like a propeller plane, faster than most helicopters can achieve, but it then switches the blades upward and acts like a helo. If you can get used to the mode changes, it should be almost identical to a helo.

In the dev blog the dev said that the hovering mechanic is the same as the harrier, as they cannot do the switch modes thing like irl, and its fine on an open carrier around the sea but one squad wanting to be dropped in the middle of a forest could be interesting, looking forward to it.

yh can you imagine what it'll be like with anything other than a 100% flat surface, it'll tilt and crash quicker than you can say geronimo. Although saying that the harriers hover quite nicely.

Well the transition has to take time, it's not like you're going to zoom up to the landing zone and switch/land at the same time. I know the engine can't support what really needs to be done, but something has to simulate that. Then again, as they said, what's in the video is only their current build. They could very well change it if it doesn't work out.

I don't know about you, but I'd settle for Ospreys being stuck in vertical rotary position. The maps are small enough that overly fast trans isn't necessary, and it would strongly affect the balance of the game, imo.
