its a two axis stick in the console between them, that "sharing" thing is a teeter bar to give both pilots the opportunity to fly.

That's awesome.

Same set up as any other chopper that has control cable cyclic. The Robinson R22 just has its dual control on show and not hidden in the floor just image that stick upside down with the stalks the pilots hold being longer and coming out of the floor between each pilots legs. Simple and cheaper.
