Maplist change?
I know there has been many asks for maplist changes in the past, and people have moaned about them and what not.
But due to the easter holidays, many people have had much more time to play PR, and on our server.
I have spent many hours over the past few days with other members seeding the server, then to my disappointment, the same maps are on all the time. For instance, Operation Marlin and Muttrah City seem to be the only maps getting played.
I don't have a suggestive maplist, but maybe someone else could come up with one?, or when I have some time, I'll make one and post it here.

We have 5 (I think?) map lists set up currently. They should be switched regularly as I'm told?

Hey sinc, your seeding is appreciated, as you know our maplists are set and then a program changed which maps loaded each day
It does get tedious, I'd like to play quai ( Brit v china?) and some of the new ones but through trial and error of the long standing regulars the maps we are left with are for the most part, crash free and run back to back
Feel free to have a think, work out a maplist idea, be open to changes, think about what to seed with, what sort of map comes on peak time, also 2 aas 2 ins
And maybe a skirmish just to mix it up once in a while

Maybe its time to get map voting system on the server? Lets ppl play what they want, no ragequits coz of same maps all the time. I just dont want to play on our server anymore, with fallujah, marlin, kokan and basrah 24/7.

I tried hard to make the ideal maplist just to realize that there isn't one.
Main problem is the overplayed maps so instead of a list I'd just suggest some changes.
I've noticed that we can't play Vadso City or Op. Marlin AAS, correct? I'll rule them out then.
Replace Muttrah with Op. Barracuda or Beirut, Dragonfly AAS with Kozelsk or Iron Ridge AAS and Fool's Road with Siege at Ochamchira. (Why isn't Kozelsk a regular map anyway, it's one of the most interesting maps of the game)
Replace Assault on Mestia with either Tad Sae or Op. Ghost Train, that map is just like Pavlosk Bay.
Jesus Christ, keep Qwai.
I'd say Kashan instead of Black Gold but I crash on BG so my opinion on it is biased.
Someone mentioned Quinling. It's a real serverkiller if things go bad early for one of the teams.
There are just a handful of INS maps so I'll just say replace Kokan with Lashkar and Fallujah with Ramiel.
And for last, have 2 AAS for 1 INS, it's the AAS maps that keep things mixed and interesting. There are only so many INS maps after all.

On a side note, having 1 INS, then 2 AAS, then 1 INS again will make sure that someone who joined BLUFOR on the first INS map will be OPFOR on the second. And rarely have I seen people play 4 maps in a row, so it won't be a problem anyway. Well, why can't we use the system of the AAS server? It was perfect. Each day had other, interesting for everyone maps i.e. one day 3 jet maps, another day inf only maps. And it was all random which made it interesting.
Sorry for off-topic, but i have to answer Tarranauha post.
On the first look it looks like cheating or something, but if you think about it it starts getting 100% legit, because if there would be another CAS squad, he would simply get the asset. So after I accidently make a early squad, I only get the asset if nobody else is willing for it. Simple. And also, I don't do early squads on purpose. I am only trying to make legit squads, but sometimes because of stress or hurry i press enter 0.1 second earlier, which creates a early squad.

hunter be as biased as you want about black gold, that map was not ready for release in my opinion, exactly like burning sands ver1 and that new large PLA map (the foggy one with a river ?)

i just wanna comment, i know you guys are trying your best. but today the server was a mess.. it crashed about 4 times in about an hour and since it crashed... it started at basrah again.. i only ended playing albasrah in the 4 hour period i was on :/ on a mixed map server

I Ctrl+F'd most of the maps. Here are the results. The numbers indicate in how many maplists the maps are in.

Notice that there are 9 INS maps in every maplist with only 2(!) AAS maps.

So, I'd suggest moving some 1's and 2's up the list while moving almost all the 4's down the list.

We should seriously add more of the asset maps ealier in the maplist. I've spoken to loads of our regulars, and they have started playing on other servers, because our server crashes before it gets to the maps they want. (and also again because we run the same maps over and over)

im home tomorrow send me(PM) a list of maps or maplists that we want on the server ans ill spend a few hours making some maplists up will make 9-14 maplists so every day is very different. THE MORE PEOPLE THAT PM ME THE MORE LIKLEY WE ARE TO GET THE MOST POPULAR MAPS

I think Asad Khal should be removed from the maplist. It constantly devolves into a Karkand-like fight between the Mansion and IDF main, with neither side able to push eachother back due to the main being uncappable. The fact that there is no bleed for the IDF either means its solely down to tickets.
Additionally I think Shijia Valley should be put in. I understand that for a select few it fucks up and crashes their rigs but for others its missing out on a really awesome map, and in my opinion is the most detailed and gives some ridiculously good gameplay.
Additionally although everyone - myself included - seems to be obsessed with playing Basrah what about subbing it out for Lashkar at the beginning of the maplist? The general consensus on TS seems to be that people are gradually getting tired of the imbalance which Insurgency is so an underplayed map would breath a breathe of fresh air into the server.

firstly this is what makes it a great map as u have to fight each other face to face so rush tactics dont work!!!

the maplist changes every day if u had bothered to check the forum u would of seen a map vote for all players into what maps go into the maplists i have made and for ur information asad got 7 votes shijia vally receved only 3 maybe ur 2c should of been given then. the maplists were built on popular maps from feedback from the pr comunity. asad kal is only a seeding map once in the map rotation so why the hating. basrah fills the server fast thats why we play it u can start seeding and still have a game without running out of time 90% of the time. also its a small map so it is good for seeding as it creates a good firefight between ins and british troops

I think we should definitely take in dtac's thoughts and value them. It's players like him that make NwA of the best servers on PR. We should listen to these kind of players to see what they think will improve the server.

After reading your posts and talking to Scotty on TS there is obviously some subtlety that I wasn't aware of. I know understand that midge spends up to 3-6 hours getting these maplists downpat and I can appreciate that much work being put into them. Those were my comments specifically on those maps and I meant no offense, sorry if it pissed anyone off. Not saying your work is s**t at all midge, frankly I'm happy with the current maps played because I have a good game every time, just striving for that perfect balance of maps that everybody likes.
As for the voting initiative was it advertised on the servers? Whilst there may have been 212 votes I think that's missing out on alot of regulars who don't check the forums.
The AD Framework voting system is awesome too, its really the only way to be sure that the map people want is on..I haven't seen it used on NwA yet, have you guys considered it?

we have looked into it and the ad framework only allows a vote from 3 maps that an admin chooses then the admin had to look at the results then the admin had to maually change the next map hence why its not used as it means an admin has to spend 20 mins eatch map setting it up and choosing maps that every one may not like then ur back to square one.

we are trying to cater for lots of players and if i go with the minority insted of the majority we will find our servers empty alot more

The map lists are awesome how they are, the best so far was the one on last Saturday (too bad that teams weren't balanced when I was playing). I would love if you could keep them. Will You? They are v. good not only because there are more asset maps, but because the asset maps are earlier on the map list. If I would want to play the maps on the end of the map rotation (where asset maps previously were) I would have to stay to about 3:00 AM (I know Its not a problem for some, but for others it is). And its not only me, because we have lots of swedish, norwegian , polish, greek, russian etc. players (+2 GMT and further East). So keep on the good stuff, I hope map rotations of this kind will stay as long as possible. I finally feel like i am playing on a Mixed maps server

you know wot, this crops up every now and then because some 1 is sick of the map lists, we had like 7 different maplists in the rotation each with 10 maps in, thats a different list for each day, none of them were the same, not even the seed map but yet ppl bitch and mone about them, they were mixed well some aas some ins, so tbh we aint gunna please every 1 all the time, just my 2 cents worth.

I don't like some maps, I love some maps. You don't like some maps, You'll love some maps. You can't keep 100% of people happy, and the majority of people love a balance. Leave it as it is - Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't our main complaint that people can't get into our servers due to being full, so evidently the map list can't be bad?

I agree Stemp that maplist that Kop/Midge done for Saturday was a brilliant balance and was the best 2 games i had in a looong time = Muttrah + Kashan.
Wouldn't say the teams were that unbalanced tho infact on the above maps ^^ i was the only *NwA* along with alot of MeRK

Pitty that I joined a few minutes before the end of kashan, but what I saw was that the game lasted 1 hour so it wasn't long fun
