Dynamic Zombie Sandbox .95
Hey guys if you are in the mood we could play this mod I've been looking at for a while now.
Like the topic name blatantly suggests it is a zombie mod à la sandbox. That is French for sandbox.
I would love playing with ACE/ACRE in this addon. Although I would like to play the first time around without making any plans what so ever. So with true gaming sense. If we spawn in different villages. Where do you go to regroup with eachother? Keep in mind this is Takistan. Also, lets not spoil it by planning, informing or briefing anyone on the forum or the Teamspeaks. If you are interested though, leave a comment in this topic.
I jotted down a few things during my first play in a previous version:
The fog at the start of the game gave me chills. After being chased by zombies for 10 minutes I ran into a control tower of an abandoned airfield and held up there for a couple of hours untill my ammunition ran out. Was all in good fun though. So far what I've noticed is that vehicles are not immune to zombie attacks. They however do help in running over zombies one at a time. Cars make inefficient weapons as they slow down dramatically when driving into a zombie.

Sweet , Each day our Arma 2 players grow in numbers though Vandals only just got it so we'll probably be doing some standard ACE/ARMA Missions to get him familar first, I am presently really enjoying learning to fly in arma 2 with my joystick We should catch up on TS mijn vriend

*SPOILERS AHEAD*
So I've had another jab at the addon and this is what happened. I put everything in a spoiler tab so I don't have to write it down later. I tried to use a little bit of RP in the text to make it more bearable to read. I played this sessions on the most hardest setting of Arma.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
I'm definitively up for another round on this map. Pretty hard to survive without guns at the start. Makes it more interesting to say the least. Hope to see you on TS today. Going to update my ACE/ACRE now.
Voodoo, tis iz da interwebz. Whad u eckspekt?

- Spoiler:
I started all alone in the middle of the desert. I had no way of getting my bearing other than my trusty compass. I could not see any further than 100 meters as the fog was too dense. The night was settling in and I had no where to hide. Facing dehydration and hypothermia in the desert I decided to move north and hopefully stumble upon a road.
After a short while I found a very small compound with destroyed buildings connected to a road. There was nothing in the ruins themselves I decided to go eastbound and hope for the best. There was a T-junction further up the road but I decided to stick on the main road.
It seems my prayers where answered when I made out buildings after a 10 min sprint.
Overjoyed I was when I found a pristine SUV and a truck further up the road inside a compound. There was nothing inside the SUV but the truck could be hiding secret treasure. I drove the SUV up to the truck and left the engine running incase I had to escape in a pinch.
The contents of the truck where as followed. One PRC-77. Finally a way out of this mess, I thought. Sadly there was no one on the other side. Not even a radio squelch. Although there were enough zombies around me at that point. So I bolted towards the car and made my hasty ape escape from the zombie law enforcement.
Finally I ended up in the middle of a dead end but I remember being here before. I concluded that I was actually very close to the airport of Loy Manara, it was to the west of my position. Surveying my suroundings I found a HESCO wall. No idea how I got it into the SUV but it got in. Only now I needed to drive past the zombie scouting force and the villages I went through with a HESCO wall. Only good chance of survival I reckoned and went for it.
Damn zombies know how to wreck a car but I made it through Loy Manara safely. Finally I drove past the fenced area of the base and entered the airfield. Sadly there was no American present left on the base. Pretty sure they got surprised by the zombie attack too as I think I saw a zombie with body armour. Was not sure because of how dark it was and the fog tends to mess with your head.
The tower was utterly destroyed so I made camp inside the furthest hanger of the base. The camp had its own HESCO wall so I walled off half of the entrance to the hanger. Not a bad job I thought to myself. Tried to raise somebody on the radio but alas nobody would respond.
Rumbling through some of the baracks I found map with a supply cache. Catch was that it was hidden ontop of a mountain passed some villages. No doubt filled with flesheating freaks. But supplies are supplies so I went into the SUV. Got the GPS working finally and set off to the mountain to the north of the base.
I got pretty lucky as there was not a single undead in the villages. The mountain was harder to climb though. I think I prefered the xombies. Less tiresome driving around them. But the gamble payed off. There was a treasure trove of items in the cache. And best of all a portable GPS! Crammed everything in the SUV. Poor thing but it was the only vehicle I had.
Driving back was a lot more exciting than I thought it would be. Last time I go back using another road. Zombies almost tore the SUV up. Managed to get in one piece though. Could not say the same about the car. Back in the base I made a quick check of the inventory.
Weapons and supplies. Check. Entrence to my base of operations. Check.
Zombies that chased me down and running towards me. Crap.
I'm definitively up for another round on this map. Pretty hard to survive without guns at the start. Makes it more interesting to say the least. Hope to see you on TS today. Going to update my ACE/ACRE now.
