Wargame: European Escalation
Really, forum? No topic about this game? I'm amazed. I really thought the PR community would absolutely love this game.
Ever wondered how PR would look like if it was a strategy game? Well, you can't get any closer than this game does.
Obligatory trailer #1
Obligatory Trailer #2 w/ funny accent
No base-building, "ticket"-based win/loss condition (the side which inflicts the most enemy casualties win), huge f*****g maps and most of your favourite vehicles we like to drive and fly in our PR game.
It pretty much has everything PR has, M1A1's, Challengers, Leopards, Bradleys, BMP's, MT-LB's, BRDM's, T-64's, T-80's you name it.
Air vehicles are there too of course, from Havocs and Apaches to Chinooks and Attack Huey's.
Many different kinds of infantry squads like SAS, Chasseurs FAMAS, Green Jackets, Spetsnaz and many more than ALL come with their own transport vehicle. (Something PR APC crewmen need to think about before heading out to fight their own wars ) You can't summon inf without it's transport, be it a M113, BTR or a blackhawk.
Relying heavily on strategic decisions, this game is no joke. Just like in PR, 1 mistake is often enough. Infantry gets caught in the open by a BMP? It gets chopped to pieces. A T-72 gets ambushed in a forest by a Delta Force squad? Their Carl Gustav's will make short work of it.
Singleplayer boasts a good and challenging campaign and in multiplayer, people try to communicate and help each other and organize defenses and attacks together. It's a fulfilling experience and if you manage to claim victory with your allies against a tough opposition the fuzzy feeling you get is priceless.
Having almost completed the campaign and done a few multiplayer matches I'll try to answer any question that arises as good as I can.

Awesome mate! There's quite a few of us, but it's a game that's lost peoples interest now :'(
Does Civilisation count as an RTS? They're brilliant games, I loved number 4 and not gotten round to get number 5 yet
