This is out and free! This is mircosofts next flight sim game. Apparently has some coop features too! I shall be getting this and if it's anything like the previous flight sims should be awesome.

Re: Mircosoft Flight
It is not like the previous sim. It's dumb down a lot and mainly a xBox port. It's free as it only comes with 1terrain. As you get more XP from doing flights, you will soon need to buy more terrain. Another DLC model revenue stream. I'll give it a go but I'm not a fan of snag them with free then bleed them dry with DLC so you can carry on playing.
If you like sims get x-plane 10, It comes on 8 DVD's or a 56gb download and cost around £60. Causal flying fans will like MS Flight but it's not a sim.

Re: Mircosoft Flight
I'm currently playing a lot of Falcon 4 BMS which is a pretty awesome F16 sim. Supports TrackIR/Freetrack etc.
It's "free" as in all you need is an iso and the mod files - pm me if you want them.
It does have a very steep learning curve but you can't beat dropping laser guided bombs from 25,000ft and watching the splash on IR

Try Flight Simulator X. It has a whole bunch of objective-based missions, and I'm pretty sure there are some where you get to fly the Boeing 747-400 and an F/A-18C. It also has a Free Flight mode where go can fly whatever you like wherever you like, basically giving you the whole planet to explore.Daze wrote:looks good, TBH i have been looking for a flight sim for some time noe but i want a 1 with missions flying 747 and fighter planes aswell with objectives
However, if you want to get into serious simming like myself, I highly recommend the PMDG 737NGX, which is a high-fidelity airliner add-on for FSX. IMHO it's the best choice if you want to simulate real-life airliner ops, and get a good idea of what it's like to fly a real airplane.

Re: Mircosoft Flight
I did have Lock-On but I never really got into it. I have, however, seen that video. It's brilliant. There's one with English subs so non-French speakers can understand what's going on. There's a second part to it as well, if you're interested.

Re: Mircosoft Flight
its hard game, I get shot by ai way more than I would like and since it is more simulator than arcade it hurts proportionally more. Yeah, seen the second part too.

Re: Mircosoft Flight
Co-op is a ton of fun, I agree. I could never get into Lock-On mainly because I didn't know anyone to co-op with, and I spent a lot of my time playing civilian flight sims (I want to be a commercial pilot). You never know, I may just give it another shot once exams are over and summer comes around.
When it comes to combat flight sims it's mainly IL-2 1946 that I find myself playing. I do co-ops with a few of my IRL mates, sometimes flying as the crew of a single bomber with one of us flying and the other two taking gunner/bombardier positions. Other times it's generally flying fighters, usually the Bf 109, or dog-fighting with each other.

Re: Mircosoft Flight
Dog fights are exciting, no doubt, but I must say I get some adrenaline rush when I realize I get lock on myself. Fighting with radar and missiles can be very exciting too. When you hear the sound of the lock on you it feels like walking in to your own execution... and out-maneuvering incoming missile feels wonderful as you are escaping the certain death.
I like playing flight sims too, my favorite missions are drugs or weapons smuggling in planes like Cessna 340 or Devgru "below the radar" insertions in remote parts of Afghanistan or other middle east country, CIA agent insertion and extraction by air branch, etc...
Sure, when you got time we can do some... smuggler hunting on the border or we can play NATO forces during Islamic revolution and keep the regime planes from bombing civilians, take off few tanks here and there, all that good stuff.

Just found my copy of flaming cliffs 2, do you have the original or 2.
I'd be happy to host a server once I get back upto speed on how to play.

Re: Mircosoft Flight
I'd love to do some co-ops. I don't suppose you're into airliner-style flights? Call me crazy, but I get my kicks from landing a 79-ton airliner in a storm, while fighting 20 knot gusting crosswinds. When I try to sell the idea of doing a five hour haul from Dubai to Kiev, my friends just look at me weirdly.Alchemist wrote:Sure, when you got time we can do some... smuggler hunting on the border or we can play NATO forces during Islamic revolution and keep the regime planes from bombing civilians, take off few tanks here and there, all that good stuff.
I've got the original. Is FC2 still available?Orford wrote:Just found my copy of flaming cliffs 2, do you have the original or 2.

I got original because its so small, I only play it couple of times in the month but I could get FC2, I think it has better networking than LOMAC. There are lot of mods and FC2 is basically a large mod to LOMAC so we can easily fit it with F18's, update cockpit, etc.
Anyways to play FC2 you have to have LOMAC installed so maybe you got original on that FC2 disc too (?)
Ranbi2Delta wrote:I don't suppose you're into airliner-style flights?
I did few of those commercial flights in MFSX and X-Plane but now I guess I would start playing kerbal space program during 5 hour flight while it is on the autopilot so whats the point anyway...
I like doing take off's and landing's from time to time so I combined interest in military operations with fun from playing flight sims by performing some of those operations personally from a pilot perspective and it works better for me that way.
If you like flying civilian planes so much than you can be the smuggler and me with Orf will try to get you... :> ...or if you insist on something heavy than a kidnapped airliner with terrorist on the board who's in need of intercepting.

Re: Mircosoft Flight
I used tp be 2ic of a logistics squadron for vMOD flying C-130s and the C5. Done a bit on VATSIM as well. Will be buying FSX soon as i want to get back into sim flying. It got to much doing real time flights to Afgahnistan taking up to much real life time.
Heres a film I made some 5 years ago, .
This one was made by some one else but I was the C130 Pilot.
Do miss flying circuts with full ATC procedures in a C130 with 2 other hurcs and a few typhoons and tornados. A fun type of stress.
Give me a few days to get a copy of fsx and some addons and we can do some multiplayer flying.
Also have you tried fs passangers. Dam hard getting a good score flying in turbulance and cross wind landings.
Al, LOMAC is on disk and FC2 is a download.

I cant wait when some one makes first space simulator where everything on the server will be in real time and people will be able to make stations and other stuff in space, like minecraft connected with ksp with a bit more realistic graphic.
