Please help me as I am having trouble with Sony Vegas 8.0b.

Ok i have just got Sony Vegas 8.0b and i click the icon on my desktop to install it on my computer.
I get a message asking me to Install Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 from SV.
Im going to show you Screen Shots of everything so it is easier for you to understand what I am on about....
Here is the message asking me to download Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0..
Help > please? 1
Then i get an error message saying download failed, please make sure you are connected to the internet which i know I am 100%.
Help > please? 2
So i quit the instillation and downloaded Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 myself of Google, that worked fine, then it was on my desktop ready to install so i clicked the logo on my desktop to install Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 as shown in ScreenShot....
Help > please? 3
So i clicked Yes i do agree to the terms and conditions then Install>
Then it dropped down into my taskbar where the arrow is showing...
Help > please? 4
so i clicked the little icon to open it up and this is what it is doing..
Help > please? 5
It is attempting to connect to a server... Attempts out of 5
It does 5 out of 5 attempts to connect then i get an error message :(...
Help > please? 6
Then the instillation ends.

I have XP not vista.
I have over 200GB left on my hard drive
Loads of memory left
If you would like to help with this and you need to see the screen shots bigger, just ask me and I will show you because i have bigger ones on my comp, i resized them ones^
My Xfire is 20madmike08
any other contact info just ask

Thanks alot
Mike.

try it again another day, the server may be down, or try using ms update in IE, current version of ms framework is 3.5 i believe and you will need versions 1 and 2 before you go to 3 but the ms update should do that for you

try here for an alternative download (i just googled it and chose one that looked good) http://www.brothersoft.com/microsoft-.net-framework-download-61828.html

Opps my bad that just the white paper telling you whats inside sp3. You can get sp3 only from windows updater

http://update.microsoft.com.

If that wont run then........

Hum cannot run any updates to M$ products all updates servers are being blocked. manual downloads will not run the setup properly.

Could be a virus I have cleaned 2 PC`s this week of the trojan/virus that blocks microsoft auto update and any web site/download that will update any version of windows and its software. Also blocks downloads from anti virus sites. and redirects to a bogus anti-virus web site. Not saying it could be the problem but for all 3 attempts to update your PC to .net 3 either direct, download install exe and windows auto update failed let me know how windows update dose.

If you still having issues then. First downloaad malwarebytes.

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?part=dl-10804572&subj=dl&tag=button

Then a registry cleaner.

http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ click the top right to download the latest version.

run a scan with malwarebytes and delete any issues it finds run it a couple of times. Then run CCcleaner the first tab on the left then the registry below it. Just check fix all.

If any one tells you any diffrent the 2 progs above removed over 32 viruses/trojans and over 1000 infected files from a friends and my sisters PC. If its real bad install them in safe mode.

Then download AVG free edition. Anti virus for free.

http://download.cnet.com/AVG-Anti-Virus-Free-Edition/3000-2239_4-10320142.html?part=dl-10044820&subj=dl&tag=button&cdlPid=11014801

After that stop downloading dodgy software.

It may not be the issue but seams strange that 3 types of updates fail.

ok i sorted installing Microsoft .Net Framework 3.0 out but now i need Framework 3.5 for the new PR coming out tomorrow.
ive unitstalled all frameworks on my comp and ran a Framework cleaner to remove them all, ive installed them all again till 3.0 and im having trouble installing 3.5 now.

I restarted comp everytime I installed a new framework
did them in order
Ive done everything i did last time to get 3.0 working but now 3.5 will not work, im tryin what Orford said now, ill let u know if that works.

TOOT TOOT and a little bit of told you so. I smelled a fish a very fishy fish so fishy i thought it was a dirty infected 40 year hooker and not in fact a fishy fish.

How many infections and buggerd up files did it find.
