Re: SOPA
But its not irrelevant, it can have massive effects on our day to day lives. I mean it could couse facebook, youtube, twitter, 4shared, megaupload, thousands of forums and so on to not only be closed down, but the owner be prosecuted in FELONY charges i.e. same categori as it would be if you beat someone up or a hit and run.
people need to understand that this isn't just another bill that gets passed, this will effect the entire Internet, and the people voting for this bill are so stupid they have no idea what they are doing. this isn't a rant. i want people to go do something about it... or no more facebook or youtube
It could effect this forum aswell, if you upload a movie here you dont have the rights to, this forum could be closed down.

Re: SOPA
Thought it was only for Americans?
Either way,
if my meat is still getting drugged by the time I'm 30, and the internet has restrictions on it.
I'll be pissed as f**k.

Re: SOPA
Freedom of speech dosent inclued freedom to lie, deformation or posting pictures of you fukjng you ex-girlfriend on the internet. Also if you don't own the rights to a film and you put it online or alter it without the owners permission why would you expect the owner not to be pissed. The last thread was deleted as it was full of bollox much like the first few posts, read the facts.
Forums would be closed down if they allowed people to break the law. SOPA now makes it easier to catch people doing so. Forcing owner to give out members details.
The main thing that makes SOPA a bad thing as it includes giving the US govermant the right to snoop on you and every thing you do online. THAT'S JUST f*****g WRONG!!!!!!
But breaking the law is still breaking the law so simple answer don't get caught.

Re: SOPA
the problem I have with it, is that it turns something like copyright infringement into a felony, up there with murder and kidnapping and such. and that not only the poster, but the site that was posted on can be charged with the same crime.

Re: SOPA
True, dose the punishment fit the crime, for 99% of users or even people who they may catch it will be a wrist slapping. With it being a felony charge that's aimed at the top end cyber crime.
Just think all this mass panic and raging at the government and fretting about the punishment is playing into there hands. A lot of people will stop doing a lot of things they once did just incase they get caught as they don't want a felony charge.
SOPA won't kill the internet or restrict what people do, peoples own fears and irashnal thinking will do that for them. All this is doing is playing right into there hands. Self policing due to fear is free policing. 99% of users don't need to stop downloading films or music ffs there are civil laws to stop that. Millions of people do it and have never got caught. One sniff of SOPA fear and just say a third get scared and stop SOPA has won already by doing f**k all, just being there.
Nerds being nerds and not even realising SOPA fear has gone viral, Think for yourself, your brain is your tool not there's.

Re: SOPA
I thought it was for America only. It's rather.... unnerving to know the ramifications of these things being drafted in my country affect everyone more or less. That's actually pretty sad. My government can kiss my feet. They've become such a nuisance recently it's mind-boggling. The US is an amazing place, but the retarded decisions they have made for the last 40 years tanked our image. This isn't something an election can fix. We'd have to flush the entire government out and re-elect EVERYONE.
The morons in my government are are old people. There is a massive generation gap that they can't seem to cross. The idea's the have now may have been acceptable in the Cold War, but they're unneeded now (I'm not just talking about SOPA, this just happens to fall into it). They don't have the right according to my constitution to even put their nose in my business, let alone as much as there. And even then, how dare they put their hand in any of your business? A world leader isn't there to tell everyone else what to do, it's to show everyone else how to do it.

Re: SOPA
Like you said crenshaw "its to show everyone else how to do it" USA start with sopa, Europe founds out it worked well (atleast what US goverment tells them). and Europe starts with sopa aswell.
this is how the US goverment want it to work.

Re: SOPA
Not to sound all conspiracy theory but those lobbyist funded programs like Limewire, Bittorent and cNet. Then put up copyrighted songs knowing they would be used for piracy. The reason for this is to increase piracy to a problem to increase support for SOPA. Then they needed to draft up a couple of reports stating they lost money with every download because the person in question didn't buy their song.
I remember lawsuits on people who downloaded a couple of songs. In particular there was a single mom who has to pay 1.9 million dollars and a British guy who has to be sent to America to be sent to an American jail for several years.
Also where would I have to post a thread like this on our forum, Bounty and Daze, if this is irrelevant and not related to *NwA*? The only place I found where it kind of would fit is in General (Use This Room To Have A Beer And Talk About Anything In General). There isn't an Off-Topic section on our forum as far as I can see. Don't get me wrong I'm not angry forshutting us up telling us not to post in the wrong section but how about moving it into the appropriate one?
Hey Crenshaw I like your avatar. There is something about gifs like these that make me chuckle.
