The Third age, "Lord of the Rings" mod, is a complete conversion mod for Total War - Medieval II.
They've just release their latest version (3) and it looks sick. I played the last version and found it to be the best complete conversion mod, second only to PR, so if you like TW games then this is a definite.

Played this mod A LOT! really loved being rohan and just flank flank flank with their cavalary... It's a pitty though that the elves are OP

I went as Gondor, classic, and took the black gate with a full army quickly, with the old mod the AI just sent full wave after wave after wave, I could never reinforce or retrain. Got so boring teasing the AI with arrows to keep my army alive

Ill definitly check it out then David.. I had the same issue as you had, mordor just kept on spamming till you couldn't reinforce anymore and thats the end of it..

Empire total war is quite good, nothing on Rome though. Doesn't stop me from enjoying it thoroughly though!
