First pr memory

It was muttrah ( with docks and mec /usa on carrier right?)

anyway i think it was back in like .5/6 and i was brand new to pr, squaded up, sumones telling me what to do, wow! so were going along, and ambushed!!! we all duck, one goes down the shouts of medic are amost real, then sumone says up there!!!



as i pan up, my sights still leveling i see a US soldier, hes about to aim down on my squad, these guys have just bought me along to teach me the ropes, this cant happen, i take aim, i breath, SNAP shot rings out, and this body slumps down off the crate and slides to the floor.



i S@{T you not, I honestly felt GUILTY about taking a life!!! i couldnt belive it, what have i done!!




ive tazered my mate in swat 3/4 ive team killed before, ive even nuked my sim city, but this felt real!

and that was my drug, i couldnt wait to get my daily fix, and other than one time i went with other NwA's i dont think ive ever played anywhere else since!

Daze & Vandal sitting in a corn field for like 4 / 5 hours and not seeing 1 enemy .....................long game that was

guarding a rock somewhere.....

First time I got on a PR server played with Vandal, I remember I was specialist and it was a painful experience teaching me how to rope over things. . . .

Dragon valley vBF2 get shot by a guy with a pilot kit and a pistol couldnt hit him with my colt. Ran away only to die 2 mins later for what i thought was no f**in reason. Didnt play it again.



3 years later Me, Vandal and then Daze went hard core on it while with [m2s] our old clan. Hence was born *NwA* mainly at first for BF2 but we had a dream...............................

Played on Ramiel Insurgency (oh no) spawned at a FOB in the city [of which I had read so much about in the manual, yes I read it] and wandered through the beautiful land of fiery garbage, washing lines and mined roads, no squad and no mic back then, I did everything I could to admire the scenery, watching the map to avoid deaths and objectives, then I found my first ever enemy sniper.

cant remeber first time its been awhile, but i do remember time where i was told to defend a flag on ghost train in some remote part of the map for nearly a whole round( was never recaptured due to nobody attacking it ) and would think to myself....what the f*** am i doing sitting in this foggy shitty woods doing s**t. i did manage to see it through only to switch back to vanilla to get some action....than gradually i kept coming back and never left since.....still conected to PR for nearly 4 years thank god for unlimited broadband :!:

Iv'e Smoked waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay to much skunk to even remember my last game never mind my first!

joined a squad because the server had join or kick switched on.
SL was all over the shop as was the squad.
i walked from Mec main to (what i now know is north city).
didn't see a living sole all the way, just the noise of war.
the longest virtual walk i ever did, every step made me more and more nervous.
walking down those eerily quiet and imagined wind blow streets really felt very intimidating, all those windows and gardens.
finally got to north city and naturally began finding places to hide away, crept up to the front-line just enough to get a look you understand and

BAM BAM BAM BAM the LAV went and i was jam.

"got to master this" i thought, a good couple or more years later and nope no mastering yet, still on that voyage.

to this day i look at some cities in PR and i still think, "sheet so many windows, haven't got a hope in hell here"

In .957, Burning Sands. I was like "Uaaau this map looks awesome " Got in a BMP as gunner, then my driver went into one of those bug random deadzones and we started panicking. A bit later the server started dieing and I practiced flying choppers in PR for the first time in an Mi-17 (and I read the manual so I knew I needed a pilot kit and how to request one!). I said "I'm good at flying in BF2" and they replied "This is different, you'll probably crash". I went up, flew around, landed like a bawss, and they went "Hmm, not bad". Then I was happy face.

Joinging with Jibba, running around confused and excited in a squad, didnt get killed amongst an amazing fire fight. it was like been thrown into a deep end of a pool n told to kick ur legs. only the pool was a meat grinder waiting to churn you out sausage style. We both didnt die and actually felt like we had lived through something when RTB back to the carrier... needless to say.... HOOKED!!

I don't remember thee map but I joined as soon as i could install the first public version

I remember it was a lot of fun because people were really bad at aiming as they didn't use the sights. except the Devs, they ruled every game.

Was playing that map with British vs China in a foggy woods with a massive bridge in the middle.

As the british, joined my first SQ and at the time had a mic too. After walking with the SQ towards the bridge for easily 10 mins, I was beginning to get bored with the lack of action, thinking "Why am I playing this game when nothing bloody happens?"

Within 0.000001 of a second it seemed, 2 SQ members are down and a huge amount of fire from god knows where came towards us. We managed to get support from another SQ and finally revived the two downed members.

Been hooked since then...

You just made me remember my first game , you handsome boy !!

It was ghost train , everyone knows the weather in that map , dark , cloudy , you dont see the guy 10 meters in front of ya . Anyway i was lonewolfing as i usually did back then . Was moving around like crazy in hope to find the enemy rally point (My biggest enjoyment of pr when rally was that important) . I find one , moved to it , laughing my ass off thinking that haha take that you scums !! then 5 secs later , an enemy apc comes up and starts shooting like crazy at us . I see a lat guy right next to me , he gets downed by the apc , i take the lat , but i dont know how to use it . I shoot without waiting for even a sec , i end up killing myself with the massive radius (It was huge back then) .

I joined up a squad, thinking "made sum great points with medic, lets give it a try", then thoght "oh they switched the defibrilator with some adrenaline sticks, awsum!"
at gas station, a tank just shaved 2 inf squads naked, i ran over there thinkin "hell yeah, work to do!" stuck an epi up each ass and ran off... and didn't spend a single thought about healing them as i expected the epis to work like the defi: zap and of ya go.

man, they where pissed! got a ban for lack of teamwork.

Iv thought hard and remembered, my first game was on *NwA* on Asad Khal with my uncle's clan mate Waffle, i was stuck in a wooden box thing in one of the houses one enemy walked in and i killed him. ( turned out to be Kop and he nearly banned me for glitching lool )

What clan was that might I ask? Was part of one who had a guy named "Waffle" too.

I was on the BigD Australian server, Fallujah, joined a squad, said i was new and the guy (I think Reddish_Red) was actually willing to teach me PR and combine it with leading the squad! I was AR and had an awesome round because we only died like twice and this guy was such a great squad leader. I've never seen him again though :p

First ever PR memory was back to 0.1 or 0.2

God ... that was looong time ago , they changed kits (everybody used M16A2 or Ak107 back in the day), damage dealt by weapons,precision of those ,and sounds. (Plus the medic system I think)

I was all like "hey that's funny you CAN actually shoot straight in BF2 ! what a great thing!" (That was before the 3sec deviation thingy)

So I took my whole team and said "let's try this with everybody" and we loved it... so here we are.

Back in the day there weren't much players on PR so we had to pick up between empty servs and nearly empty servs... it was always a good time.

And the only really good maps were Karkand (lol) , Golf of Oman and Mashtuur City , so we played a lot of this till the first custom map came out.

I have a boner everytime I think about the FIRST muttrah (it was very different from the one we have now) and the silenced marksman (SPR-S) I used to take ... Plus the Spec ops kit ... what a joy.

... I sound like an old men though I'm probably one of the "young" here... That's strange.

I played the first release and as such cannot remember a thing from my first PR experience. It was like 6 years ago or something...

I remember that SPR from the first muttrah, was sexy. I miss the little birds. So awesome. Having two full littlebirds drop into a street, the squads sitting on the edge of them. Looked so awesome, regardless of lack of realism.

I remember deviation coming in, and everyone being like "WTF I CANT HIT ANYTHING"

Playing BF2 maps in 0.1 mini mod was great, Mashtuur was alot of fun. The maps we have now tho, WOW, the devs have done incredible things with a crappy old restrictive engine! We've come a long way baby!

Err, I took off in a F-16 doing 'Highway to the danger zone' topgun style... I failed to take off, ploughed into the sand bags, though 'OMFG STOOPIDZ GAMEZ Y U R NO TAKEZ OFF!?'. I'd had my joystick on but I didn't have the settings changed for it.. I got booted (Very nice admins tbh) and I left with my tail between my legs

I think my first experience was on Seven Gates as British rifleman with my old clan UKWF. They taught me the ropes and how to play so I had a smooth entry and it really grew on me and I love it.

I didn't read the manual before joining in as the others said they'd teach me so when I first saw the shovel I thought "What is this? A new knife model or something? Can I kill people with it?" lol. Then I found out what it was really for but I still think you should be able to knock people on the head with it.

I first played it in the 0.75 version in 2008. I played on Gulf Of Oman, Singleplayer.. because i only wanted to test it out a bit and compare it with other Bf2 mods...never played it again until August 2010
