Biggest ones I've noticed so far:
- New Iron Eagle layout with jets;
- Canadians on Kokan alternate layout;
- Kokan mainbases improved;
- Insurgency on Dragon Fly;
- New map Shijia Valley;
- Alternate Ramiel layout, possibly USMC with AAVPs and/or LAVs;
- Alternate Silent Eagle layout, attack helicopters;
- Alternate Basrah insurgency layout with transport helicopters;

Re: New map layouts for PR?
new map looks ok, as for the rest of it....just more of the same..ok don't get me wrong, i appreciate the hard work done by the DEV/CON team but from what i've seen its just....more of the same (mistakes) examples; koleslek will still be unplayable because of the caves (why even develop AAS4 ? if you cant actually use it ?) and as for introducing insurgency for maps like dragon fail your just asking for a server killer right there (in much the same way they tried to liven up iron ridge the same way ) Beruit looks like nothing has changed whatsoever so same fail there then......hopefully burning sands works that's all i can say because for the past year everyone's been saying "why don't servers play more AAS" well put bluntly its because most recent AAS maps are ? whats the right phrase ? a bit s***....also wondering if they have modified cache spawn system (probably not) but some how left Karbala in the list, i'm sorry, but really ? PR ver .917 onwards killed that map, there is nothing to give it any merit at all....bit disappointed.... and please before people start saying "well make your own maps then" i'll say its not that hard to listen to real player feedback and edit some maps accordingly (e.g Koleslk) its simply moving a flag....o and as for different factions in various alternative layouts...think you'll only get a hard on if you're actually Canadian etc etc i dare you to actually notice the difference between a M4/M16/C7 (all because of the comma rose audio) o well more changelogs expected soon i suppose, lets see what they bring.

Re: New map layouts for PR?
Perhaps they consider that tunnel complex the most interesting part of map ^^ but looking on the bright sight:
Looks like alternative ochamchira got some love and they moved Brits starting area out of the dock possibly adding boats.
Have you ever seen any maneuvers in Charlie9-12 to Kilo9-12 area ? I haven't and with boats Brits could easily get there and put some pressure on that village flag. It looks a bit like reversed insurgency where Brits play role of defenders but in this case they got trees in place of huts and heavy at's. The only sad thing is the boats can't carry supply crates
I don't think insurgency dragon fly will be next iron ridge. Simply because of Lynx and the fact that each time people sit in to BTR they treat it as a private gun on wheels so traveling on iron ridge is to time consuming. Also because most of the cashes were far from Rus main where on dragon fly you got urban area(most of cashes will be there) is in the middle and its bigger, easier to occupy(and getting intel) and hiding fob there will be piece of cake.
Another thing is that tanks are very efficient in clearing all those buildings with many floors. Searching for cashes at training station, north fields or oil warehouse doesn't sound to bad either.
So isn't it more karbala with less open space?
Btw. Those 2 maps fit perfectly together for an uk event. Like if Chechen's win and capture docks on ochamchira that mean dragon fly runs insurgency infantry layout because they lost the supply line. If Brits win than standard insurgency will run with tanks and apcs.
Don't forget that fools road should also benefit from AASv4.
Oh and Speed, yeah I can see a difference between burst fire and full auto especially in cqb

hope all that finetuning will add some more fun and realism to the PR and the Dev team will incorporate majority of what the player pool wants.
Iam still missing what almost everyone requested on forums and ingame - trans or combat LB´s on korengal for US Army.

Re: New map layouts for PR?
They don't want to use it because Little Birds are only in service with special forces, besides, a helicopter on Korengal would get silly baseraped every time it spawned or when it landed if it even managed to take off.

Just noticed some changes on Kokan aswell, look at the mainbases, they're further North and further East for the Americans/Canadians and Talibans respectively.

Re: New map layouts for PR?
i think thats optimistic Alchy, the militia in a built up area without death/ticket loss and M60's, erm...also tanks cant live in a militia city, so their ability to clear buildings is mute. so picture the scene, the heavily armed millitia have a hideout near, you as a squad have the task to look for a cache in 2 of the large L shaped buildings, as you kill your way around the area (good luck with that) they come back in waves of 1 minute intervals, yet you still haven't found the cache between you and another 2 squads in 2-4 waves of enemy. this is exactly what happened to iron ridge ins mode which (anecdotally) is probably the least played map/mode combination. pretty much like a harder version of gaza strip !!!! which i noticed they have cut through the BS and have added AAS mode to, wonder which version our public players will be asking for ? any how i would like point out that whilst i'm not ungrateful for the work of the DEV's/CON's i guess i was expecting a bit more than i had realised wasn't ready yet, optimisation processes for >64 player maybe ??? (thats a pure guess,please dont quote)...also the caves on kolesleckskie are the most boring parts of that (otherwise) wonderful map (1 of my favorite maps of the ver.9xx release)....any way i'm alchy's pessimistic karmic balance :

Re: New map layouts for PR?
Who says tank have to live there? They supposed to be like visiting tourist, come at right time, snap few shots and move back to hotel for some cold drinks. You can skip on sight seeing, you have been there before.
With clearing buildings most neglected thing is securing your rare. You can progress few floors and there can be squad in house on your 6 giving you cover from upstairs but when one guy sneaks behind and all your guys are busy with whats in front than it feels impossible to win.
I know that being the one (usually at least two in L shape) that covers entrance can be like staring in the wall for 15 minutes but so much depend on that. With 2 squads, when you progress leave 4 man to secure rare and each time you secure floor move them up.
Oh and you still can't find the cash? Taking page from Jev's book... Get in to building next to cash and observe before moving in. Can't see anything ? Send scouts way around to look from opposite side, don't rush blindly in to firefight with superior numbers.

a old element coming back home,..
there used to be a merlin as well, which made every server crash.
Or if the server survived, the pilot would crash, because it gave you a lagg spike every 5 seconds.
Trans heli on basrah makes it all way easier for british.

Lynx on Basra was awesome. That map is made for LB's though, so wish they would step away from the "realism" factor from time to time, because everyone knows it would go down a treat!

Re: New map layouts for PR?
who says tanks cant live in a militia town ?, the 2 HATs the 4 Lats, the 2 arty IED's the AT4 spandril and the SPG techie,the fixed arty and the 2 deployable SPG9's thats who, Alchy have you not played Dragon fly that much ? however it does depend on the load out for ins mode i suppose but there is no denying that Dragon fly is designed for tanks to die...a lot. on ins mode the Lynx will come into its own though, Vince you better start practicing those roof top landings......"sorry guys lagggg spikeeee" lol

speedhound1-WYD- wrote:who says tanks cant live in a militia town ?,
Again who say they have to live there. Do you think that because it is a tank so it supposed to tank all incoming damage?
Well it can tank some rpg's, I don't really know how many tandem charges it can take.
Use tank at the right time, wait it at north field etc, don't rush it in. Secure approach path and select spot for tank that you can cover with your infantry.
When your infantry moves towards the known cash, the only moment you really need tank is just before final push on the cash room.
Spg station or techy /fixed arty can't just kill tank unless he drives right on to their fire so again infantry need to work with tank if they want this kind of support and tank can't just wonder around the map searching for something to kill. Add 2 .50 call jeeps to tank security and use those dismounts to secure angles from which tank could be attacked with rpg's while stationary.
One of first objective for infantry on that map should be securing supply rout by disabling those fixed guns.
I have played dragon fly with very good tank support and some with very bad one and I can tell that people often misuse tank as a private platform with big gun that have to be present in battle for whole duration (ofc,its not gonna happen), rarely as a proper surgical tool but don't tell me it can't be done. Same thing was spoken about Karbala that tank wont survive attack on cash in the middle of city and I had round where tank was right in the middle of the town raging havock, providing support, covered by infantry and lmv's and survived to tell the story. All that because of flawless communication between sl's and proper coordination of assets.
Maybe Chechen's got better rpg's or AT guns but they lack bomb cars/trucks (at least they didn't had them on iron ridge) imo the best urban area armour killers in the game. Oh and there is no spandrel on insurgency mode either.
The closes thing Russians had to splash damage was 14,5 mm cannon on the top of BTR which fades in shadow compared to Warriors 30 mm cannon armed with HE rounds, not even mentioning Challengers 120 mm HE shells that can clear floor in no time, you don't even know what hit you.

Alchemist wrote:I don't really know how many tandem charges it can take.
As of .957, it can't take any. It gets hit by one and either bursts into flames right away or gets tracked, starts jumping up and down and kills itself after a minute, which is pretty stupid. The militia's old rusty T62 can get hit by a modern SRAW and just starts smoking with warning alarms going off, easily being able to RTB (once took 3 HATs in a round) yet the Challenger with it's high-tech armor takes a hit from a PG-7VR and gets effectively taken out.
Alchemist wrote:Oh and there is no spandrel on insurgency mode either.
Source? In the map previews the AT-jeep icon is active (one before APC/IFV and above transport helicopter), which is what the 9P148 is under.

Re: New map layouts for PR?
Expressed myself wrong, just meant you can't say it's not there if there's no proof yet (unless one of the DEVs said it isn't there).
Also, I hope Iron Ridge gets played more often (or simply gets played at all), that is one of the best looking PR maps.

What I mean by that is that some elements of the game they have taken away (like the air assets on basrah) are attempts at realism, where personally I feel basrah was much better with air assets, and would be a tonnebetter if LBs were present. Sometimes they seem to take the whole realism factor too far and it slightly ruins the game... certain balances they have ADDED make no sense whatsoever and aren't inline with the rest of the game, like the challengers armour etc

No, re-read my post, I said it would be better with LBs and it was a mistake to remove air assets completely...
