Re: Learning to fly
Pull the nose up. Cut the throttle and tap the 's' key (standard binding) to slow down and descend. Don't keep it pressed, otherwise you will plummet down like a brick.

Re: Learning to fly
You can also land heli like a plane if you have enough room, just fly above ground at full speed, release trotle and touch the ground.
Should work with all medium sized helis. I do this sometimes on muttarah.
And remember, its YOUR chopper, your main objective is to keep it alive. Fly low and fast to avoid AA locks and all that stuff.

Re: Learning to fly
I've been learning to fly for a couple of weeks as well.
My best tip for landing is: Pull the nose up more than you think is necessary. It might feel strange and weird since you cant see to much when levelling out.

Re: Learning to fly
get a good joystick!
feels natural to me to keep balance with that. left on wasd for throttle and z-axis.
on aproach to pad, pull nose to zero and let go of throttle --> heli stops allmost by itself to hover, it pulls its nose a bit up. just adjust to its movement... hard to describe.

Re: Learning to fly
Mouse Keyboard! for the helis.
Nobody can learn you how to fly its an impossible thing to do! keep at it and you'll get the feel for it in no time. ( practice on muttrah in the huey / then kokan in the kiowa )
Set your sensitivity to 8 and your both YAW to 7 you will feel that makes it smoother and more responsive! this mouse Kop gave me has 400,800,2000 speeds on it i use 800.

Re: Learning to fly
lies all lies...............if you want to know how to land a chopper the NwA way this is how you do it.....you fly high so when you're 'going in' you are doing around 300 knots....then you come down in a swooshing motion (as seen side on) with little or no room left to pull up in any description of the term.....then (and finally) after all this preparation you come down to Terra firma at a perfect 1 metre altitude horizontal flight where upon you must find a small wall/tree/bank and ditch/fence/dead APC/ and plough into it (all at 300mph).......all you have to do then is what all pilots do press K and write "LAGGGGG SPIKEEEEE"......hope this helps

Re: Learning to fly
I thought NwA style was landing it upside down on top of radio mast.
