Headphones.
WAHHHHHH =[
So last night as usual, just took my headphones out after they worked FINE.
I wake up this morning, go to my computer plug em in, and all of a sudden they DONT WORK.
I open the orphus of the right headphone ear, as deafness has inhabited it.
I find that one wire is completely ripped off.
How the ballsack does that happen? Is there any way to fix these? Or should I just buy a new pair instead?

Re: Headphones.
depends how much they cost i suppose, cheap small soldering iron is a couple of quid, beg some solder and flux from local garage or some thing and then just erm, do it !! soldering is very easy to do.
speed
PS the wire was probably under your chair leg or your foot, you stood up at the end of the evening and....rip....simple as that

Re: Headphones.
soldering iron, or new headphones (it's really stupid buy new headset only for ripped wire) borrow soldering iron and fix it like a boss! Plus it's easier then buy new headset

Re: Headphones.
Am I the only one who doesn't know how to weld?
I wish I was born a generation earlier

Re: Headphones.
weld looolhehehaha
clearly there is a generational thing going on, i heard the other day about this geezer that goes round London changing light bulbs and replacing fuses cus apparently a lot of people don't even own a screwdriver, lmfao, imagine, how many Londoners does it take to change a light bulb ? answer 1, a professional light bulb changer don't you know !!!!!
soldering, (not welding)
simple teach your self lesson ;
get 2 wires, get the iron hot enough to melt the solder dip the ends of the wires in the flux, hold the wires together apply heat to solder whilst holding solder next to wires then melt solder around wires. rinse and repeat on scrap wire until you can do it without the wires falling apart after the solder has cooled and until you can do it neatly then you can solder anything you want, bear in mind, soldering copper sheet or large wiring will require a larger more powerful iron than an iron suitable for small or fine wire.
the above lesson will/should take 5-10 mins

Re: Headphones.
What did ya learn at school rob?! I did soldering at secondary school, that was only 7 years or so ago. It is as easy as speed says, 5 mins of practice and you should have it sorted

Re: Headphones.
I'll give it a try, might as well.
I'm interested in learning welding anyway just to HAVE as a skill, now that would be useful :p
I live round the outskirts of Slough.

My pair was pretty expencive but have lasted me so far and I put them through hell. I used to buy cheap sets and they would break.
I got fata1ity (or what ever his name is) headset for about 35quid and they havnt gone wrong for a good 4months that ive had them

Re: Headphones.
I can use screwdrivers, spanners, hammers... But solders? I never got good at. Always used too much solder, burned myself, wrecked the job, once I soldered a radio to a worktable.

Re: Headphones.
LOL Bownty only you. I can solder and I have a brother who has travelled all over the world weilding stuff. So im coverd. As for paying some one to change lightbulbs this must be a North/south thing. If some one went round here offering to change light bulbs for money they would think its a cover for a male escort service. lonley house wifes paying to have the light bulbs serviced.

Re: Headphones.
Its probably not worth the effort of finding someone with a soldering iron, or buying a soldering iron, attempting to fix the headphones and realising that you've made things worse. I would just buy a new one. Time is money
