Apparently, there are other games that aren't Project Reality There is even a whole forum for them

So what are you playing when you're not playing PR? I picked up Red Faction Guerilla in the steam sale for about 3 quid. It's quite fun to smash everything to pieces with a super powered hammer. Also CoD4 when im feeling noobish.

Also, are there any *gasp* console players here?

I bought ARMA2 CO when I found United Operations Community.
Installing all the mods and stuff took me two days and when I was done they had already updated it. Anyway, seems fun.

hey rob,

those vids look very promising, effects etc (particularly the rounds landing close and those going past ears, very cool)

but one thing i couldn't help but notice was that the people filming and their squad mates were mostly shooting at enemy bushes and rocks which leads me to think that when Arma finally meets PR we'll have 1 team that will be forever confused by games layout and the other team that wont be able to shoot them, hmmmm.

i think that if those vids are representative the Arma boys wont live with us, we'll just pwn the living poo out of them once we've got the hang of the game.

I have ARMA 2 installed the united Operations server mods, but dont really know how to get involved with them, havent got the time right now. But if any of you lot do play with them can someone point me in the right direction to introduce myself?

Yeah. Believe you me, it's not easy. They all say "oh it's all good once you get to know them", sure it is, but if you don't already know them it's kinda hard.

I found this guys blog. Inca_killas blog.

What I did was to go to United Operations site, follow the install instructions. When I was all done I got in TS and Help channel and the Inca_killa guy was actually there to help me.
The whole mod/ts/allothercrap-installing is actually a lot easier since yesterday when they fixed it (hopefully for good).

The only problem I'm having is the lack of real military and ACE/ACRE experience.
My last mission went like this:
I join as grenadier to a sq. Walk up to a guy who is my Fireteam leader and say "hey, whats the plan, I missed the briefing". He kindly explained. Then the CO says "everybody shut the f**k. up here's the briefing. Enemyatgrid03265264246Koala331FireteambravoYouAreOnChannel331Approachfromeastandwaitatgrid0238462CharlieOn332WillMoveFromNorthTow3185153135" ect.ect.
"Everybody got that?" and all the old school United Operation ppl go "Copy"

And you standing there with your d**k in your hand and don't have a single fecking clue on what's going on. So you follow your Fire team leader or just do whatever you think is the order. Eventually somebody turns around and scream "WHAT THE f**k ARE YOU DOING HERE? YOUR FIRE TEAM IS 300M EAST YOU PRICK. GET THEM ON THE RADIO IF YOU DONT KNOW!" and your like "what channel?" and they go "331 ON THE 148 RADIO!"... And that's how you learn that there are more then one radio type.

This might sound harsh. But the reality is that it's f*****g great fun if you get in to it.
I guess that's why they have Familiarization Course. Two of which are this Sunday: Regular Familiarization Course and Radio Procedures.

When they were on the hill with the little stone walls you could see their heads far in the distance but they were just spraying, when PR arma comes out AND it is sutiable to run without bugs, I can't wait

I have been playing Crysis 2 demo for the last week , also men of war assault squad which is quite nice in my perspective , and swat 4

Apart fro PR, being played DCS:BlackShark for a while along with LockON Flaming Cliffs 2.

i just completed the single player of medal of honor last night was very good doubt i will play the multplayer tho .

Been trying to finish Assassins creed 2, ahead of the assassins creed brotherhood PC Release , nearlyyy there . Flaming cliffs 2 is good fun, and DCS-A10C looks utterly amazing, if I get a job I think imma buy that.
