wow... that's actually pretty cool. Doesn't change that sitting on the mortars are boring as hell when people don't call enough targets

Re: For those who love motars
this has been an issue from very nearly the introduction of mortars into PR.
JackCR (who plays on NWA a fair bit) posted an opinion on PR forums that you shouldn't use macros in game and got a very mixed response from those in agreement to downright hostile.
i agree with jack, the use of macros should not be encouraged in any game, the game being what the DEVs intended EVERYONE should play, the debate i suppose has arisen from the fact that those who wrote the mortar scripts have shared the script, but if you think about it they could have just as easily kept it to themselves, which would have left everyone else wondering "how the HELL is he doing that with those mortars?"
i seem to remember from somewhere that the DEVs for PR have said that mortars will be given an overhaul soon, so if they add height data to the equations themselves the debate should be over, but for now (and in my opinion) a macro is a macro.

Just a thought, it might not work.
If we just considered it a support asset, i.e covered by the logistics crew that would be awsome. i.e a dedicated support squad who's role was to supply the forward lines with Logi truck and armoured humvee and also who direct mortar fire support.
Again, just a thought.

Re: For those who love motars
I see your point Speed. But it does the same thing as the motar calculater does. Just more precise, and thats where the "cheat" may lie.
But would you consider it a cheat if I used a calculator beside my computer to do the calculations instead of doing it ingame a cheat?
I recall seing a formular, where you could take the grids, count them, and do some calculations, and thus get the same result as the program above.
I could type these into the calc and get the same result.
I could also use excel to do the calc.
I could put up formular in excel where I would put in the info i got from the game and get the same results
Or If I was good enough I could do them in my head
Would any of the above possibilities be a "cheat"?
If I found the earlier version where height is not incorporated then what?
Where lies the differnce ?

Re: For those who love motars
Well the enemy were complaining about the accuracy and speed of our mortars on Muttrah the other day, so I can't really see the need for this.

I know what I'll do from now on. Create a kind of logistics/support squad. Get on Mumble and do mortar/logi support. Feckin brilliant.
