ah yes 3:13, the race horse that doesn't want to race. he tries to throw himself backwards on his jockey all the time. it's an old horse tactic. predators used to grip them at the back and the horse would throw itself backwards to smash the predator. pretty effective you ask me.
i used to ride. my sister owned a horse and I did for a short while. I quit for a couple of reasons. mainly because its high cost and maintenance, health problems and later moving house.
maybe later i will get one again it's fun, love to go fast hehe, guess a horse s for a girl what a car is for some men.

Nice tunes. Ow, fair bit of that seemed mostly painful to me, though that might be because I've done a some riding myself.

Re: thrills n spills
yea the funny thing is the rider brings it on to him/herself.
top reasons for falling are:
mistakes in calculation of steps between jumps, (need more practice or glasses)
not looking to the next situation / jump, (anticipate!)
locking up the muscles in lower part of the body (dont do that you'll bounce off like a ball within 5 seconds ) as you can see, where the horses spook and the rider stays on they all have their lower body relaxed. it's a reflex to lock up, one you have to let go of, if you want to stay onboard haha.
another reason is unexpected movement. like the jump at 6:58 the horse kicks sideways with his hind legs, cant anticipate on that and off ya go. weeeeeeeeeee free flight. it can't be helped, even profesional riders are thrown off because of this. most falls in the vid is due to rider's mistakes.
the music in this: Pendulum - munity and Pendulum - blood sugar. love those tracks!

A sure method to remedy that is to ride without stirrups. You soon learn :

Re: thrills n spills
Just stumbled over this thread... awsome vid!
My parents have about 20 horses, so no surprise i ride as well.
My Fav is 5:19 how high is that? 7ft?
My scared-to-death-moment was at 7:50 *pain* wost thing that can happen is when you stucked in the stirrup.
Some baaad situations in there i don't wann be ever in... especialy in military riding.
