1.5 patch update from dice

It’s time to start opening the lid on what Battlefield 2 Update 1.50 is going to contain!

A few months ago we announced Battlefield 2 Update 1.50 was in development, but so far we have been quiet regarding the content of the update. It is time for us to reveal some of the features the update will contain! The priority for us in this update has been to secure Battlefield 2 against a number of attacks against the game.

We have spent time looking into the attacks and implemented short term solutions with the help of GameSpy to limit the impact of stats padding and leaderboard abuse. Other issues have been found to be game and server based, which is where Update 1.50 comes in. what Battlefield 2 1.50 will contain a number of security updates, including the following:

- Server crashing – We have worked with the issues causing servers to crash, which has caused problems for the community (especially those who rent ranked servers).

- Name/ID spoofing – Extra steps have been implemented to ensure the soldier being used belongs to the right account.

- Commander assets – This is to stop the excessive spawning of multiple crates, UAVs or vehicles.

More information on Update 1.50 will be revealed as we approach the release date.

Yep there will be a public Beta before final so you can see what we have been working on. Some things you'll see/experience and other things you won't as its behind the scenes to secure Battlefield 2 accounts and playing experiences.

The beta would be for everyone that wants to install it, the more people that do the better feedback we get and we don't have an update 1.30 again. That update alone set us on the road of public beta to stop it from happening in another update. The plan is to get it out before Christmas yes

Not sure where you found that information martin but I don't believe it refers to vanilla BF2.
Sounds more like one of the mods maybe AIX or N@W not sure which one. But I am certain
it ain't BF2.

EA\Dice are bringing out a OPEN BETA of the 1.50 patch before xmas to allow anyone to download and play to get everything working.

They are doing the beta so they dont end up failing like last time :!:

The big thing that most brits and other shitty inet countrys is the fix of the netsettings. All you need to know is that you play someone with a 80meg inet they are gonna pwn you with there mad upload. Ever shot someone in the head 10 times and they dusted and headshot you with one spray from the ak in your leg and kill you? Well i have and it aint nice .

It’s almost three months now since EAs post, still waiting for an update, any one any news on BF2s new patch ???????

doubt we will get one now due to the two new games coming out in the summer 1943 and hero's they will have all there resources working on them probaly as there is a beat testing going on now for hero's so i imagine that will be out soon.

get to fook some one is pulling your leg 1.1gb thats not a patch. looks like EA is testing a new game engine and running it on bf2 first. 1.1gb!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thats a hole new game from the ground up. No wonder they are boasting a hole load of server fixes and hack fixes it base on all new coding??????????????????
