Got bored - Al Basrah at night

This was the view from my hotel room

Photoshops not my thing so im sure people can do better, but there was a thread on the pr forums that inspired me to edit a few pics, gonna try some more

very nice, now if they would only make a map of it...

i think the bf2 engine is at the very limits, if i won the lottery i would pay the pr people to make a game that betters arma, standalone but free, with lighting effects and all sorts!

If PR was made standalone then the Cryengine 3 would be amazing (like Realtime Immersive)

GJ mate, but if you want it too look like night/late evening then you have to make it muuuuuch darker Colors are fine, just make the image a lot darker, even if then you won't be able to see details

i thought the blacksand studios are already working on PR2 ? They said (in their FAQ) that they want to use the C4 Engine

I agree as well and I'd do the same.

They need a map with rain. That shouldn't be too hard. That or at least Thunder.

they need to turn the awesome vanilla night-time jungle map with boats into a PR skirmish map - that would be epic (I looked for the map and couldn't find the name of it :s)

no, not devils perch. There was a map that was in 100% jungle/swamp at night. It was vanilla BF2, had APC's definitely and possibly tanks, as well as usual smattering of jeeps etc. It was PLA vs USA, night time, it had boats as well and you could drive through the swampy bits with

I know which one you're talking about (i think?), but that map wasn't at night though. Was a sweet map to snipe on!

might be that one - i just thought it was at night cos I can always remeber a very annoying light/lantern near one of the flags that was in the perfect snipe position but gave you away if you were under it

EDIT - yeah it is that one - i'm sure i've played a night time/dusk version of it though

I'm pretty sure there were no night maps in vanilla (without expansions at least)

maybe it was a custom map although i dont think it would have been - maybe i'm just mixing 2 up in my head

not in special forces no?
